Default AMG style hood chrome thingys

Lots of you guys without and AMG still have found a way to get the AMG looking vent looking thingys on the top of your hoods near the windshield. I assume that wasnt from parking next to a nice looking AMG and borrowing the incerts. Would someone please tell me where I can get these things fro my 08 280? and if it is as simple of an installation as it looks like? or does it actually take some effort? i know that the window washer nosels end up there as well, so maybe it takes more than I think?

Thanks in advance...

gotcha, makes sense now. I couldn't tell where they went based on the pictures, and I ordered the actuall "AMG hood vents with gills" from the dealership, so those should work out just fine. =)

Thanks everyone.

Wow, how much were the actual fins from the dealer? The aftermarket ones were $85.00

$300 for the pair, but they aren't just fins, it is a replacement for the entire hood vent units. the fins are part of it, not an addition. so they are built into the ones that i purchased, not just snapped on as attachements.

the snap on attachment ones aer just as good to be honest.....
but the old saying, you get what you pay for, comes into pay...so fair play to you.
one of the essential mods to an slk i think, makes a large difference to the visual appearance of the car..
next up should be a shortened aerial from either r230 SL or else the R170.

I went for the Piecha pins, I preferred the cleaner lines. The rest of SLK trim is smooth, so this should be smooth too. They're a perfect match fo the inside door handle. (here's a google translation of their site ... http://tinyurl.com/6r4vs4 )

I could understand the indented rings for grip if you could operate them by hand, but you can't. (gosh, I hope that doesn't sound too grumpy and pedantic!)

$300 for the pair is a pretty good price. What dealer did you get them from?

Got these puppies installed and they look great, but just so you guys all know, the AMG ones for $300 from Mercedes are the same plastic vent with clip on fins already installed it appears. So getting the satin clip on fins looks like it would be the exact same thing for about $90 and quick and easy installation.
