| Originally I saw the ambient light in a friend's BMW 740 and I really like it. Since I added to a few of my other cars. When I got the SLK350, well it supposes to have one , but it is totally useless. Lately I got a lot of time on my hand so I took a chance and very carefully disassemble the mirror housing. I took a small flat blade screwdriver and slowly pop out the outer trim from the mirror housing. I saw the LED and desoldered it from the connector. The LED is a 2mm amber type.. not bright at all. I replaced with a 3mm High intensity Blue. I have to enlarge the LED housing a bit using my Dremel tool. I soldered everything back. I also added 5 more LED light and wired to the existing foot well light. It is a lot better then the factory.. Enjoy.... |

| Nice mod! Can I ask what the object attached to the right air-vent on the centre console is, I'm presuming it's an air freshner but it looks like two clear tubes. |

| I guess i just like the factory shade. For me ambient light is just that, all the button's and displays light up anyways and if i need to have a read of something i use the reading lights. But again personal thing, it's a cool mod.
