Default SLK ownership, the love for our cars and similarities that I find.....

We as SLK owners are people that are torn from the effects of climate changes and other obstacles and barriers that stop us from enjoying our cars full potential and features, whenever I leave home off to to any particular destination I always have a glimpse of the SLK be it a gloomy day or a dusty sandstorm. I see SLK owners are people who strive for the perfect day to enjoy the cars and I am one of them, its all about the mood, timing and ofcourse the weather.

We as SLK owners are like sailer's, we wait for the best time to enjoy the road and like those who wait for a day where the waves are flat to enjoy their catamarans and sailing boats. I love the feeling where it is just you, the road and your willingness to drive as much as you can to forget live's stresses and other things that are on your mind. If I was going to say what might be the best road for the SLK, it would no doubt be somewhere in europe where the car is meant to be driven; A place where an individual can enjoy the cars handling in the mountains, track or on the highway. The SLK which ever engine it may be is one of the best cruisers ,roadsters and sports car you could get.

Enjoy your cars ladies and gentleman, top down for your portable tan and more of that Vitamin D!

Here are some pictures from today, as usual fiddling with my camera.

Enjoy and best regards,

Mohammed.

The same reason I did not join a country club in Chicago is why I now have an SLK in Arizona; the weather. We have the top down about 11 months of the year. Surprised the wife with a mountaintop dinner last night when she got home from work. 15 minute drive to an unbelievable view of the city, top down all the way. Didn't even have to put it up when I parked. I love this car in this climate. I truly feel bad for those who have to put there "baby in the corner" of the garage for multiple months each year.

It will be 90 today, and 96 tomorrow here. I think my baby deserves a car wash today.

If I go in the garage, I always take several glances at the lines again. And if it is gone because the wife has it, I miss not seeing it

It IS a great car!

I feel the same except every time I glance over to look, I see two coats of dust. , been sitting in the garage too long during the winter months, will have to clay, polish, and wax very soon. You guys who live in FL and SoCal are very lucky.

I am fortunate enough to live in a place where I can drive my car pretty much anytime. I have gone for a couple of weeks before without driving it and just have to sit in it and fire it up for a short drive. Every time I walk into my garage I feel the same feeling as when I first brought it home and would catch myself just looking at it and it's beautiful lines. I've had other cars I liked a lot (couple of Corvettes) but nothing has evoked the feelings the 55 brings out, I really love this great machine. I don't see how you guys in the cold climates go all winter without getting to enjoy such a great car.
