OK, that's how I'll explain then ir-ops *L* ...and like I said I'm more interested in the wheels for their weight savings anyway.

you'll like the oz wheels; they are ultra light and well made. and no, you can't replace the center cap with the mb cap, they are different sizes and styles.

So when are you going to get them? Readily available or does it take several weeks?

Ordered now but don't have a delivery time on 'em yet. Untortunately one of the drawbacks of living on a rock sticking halfway out into the Atlantic is things take awhile to get here *L*. Hope to have them within a couple weeks - right around when the car finally comes out of winter storage.

Bill, I cant wait to see on the SLK as I am guessing it will look very sportive. I saw it this year in Portofino Italy on a Mini Cooper S and it looked quiet well, so its going to be smashing and sizzling hot.

Yes, cant disagree and everything is more expensive. If you truly adore portofino, you should check out Hotel Splendido I stayed 3 nights over there last year and it was fantastic.

Appearances aside, hoping these'll also help me shave off a little more time off at the track this summer Mohammed!

Did you remove the resonator, spare tyre and tools ? I could of sworn the difference was around 50kg in total weight savings.

Your on the right route to weight reduction without going too insane and losing all of the so called creature comforts, I bet it will be a better and more agile car when your finished.

I'm getting old, I won't be giving up my comforts Mohammed *L*. Seriously though, shouldn't be too difficult to drop a hundred pounds off the car without compromising it in any way. Just the new wheels alone will be close to a 40 lb decrease, and that's a saving in not just overall weight, but in unsprung and rotational mass.

Well, they finally arrived today - but without all the new (different length from stock) lugbolts. Oh well, have to wait for Tirerack to send replacement, or try and track some down around here. So it'll be a day or three yet before they go on the car.

Congratulations Bill, look at the bright side as I've still have to wait a week until I get my headers.

When the time for me to buy the headers are back ordered and when I am short in cash they are available.
