Where's the switch for trunk/boot light?

Does anyone know where the switch is to turn off the light in the trunk/boot of the R171? I couldn't locate the switch so I could tape it down to turn the lights off. I wanted to change the clamp/festoon type 10w 44 mm bulb to an aftermarket white LED but it's a bit too hot to handle as it stays on as soon as the trunk/boot is opened.

Wait 15 mins and it will go off by itself.

I think the switch is encased in the lock mechanism etyu, best thing to do would be to wait for it to go off by itself like mcat said it only take 15 mins

Thanks for the replies. I knew it would go off after 10 to 15 minutes (after leaving the boot/trunk open) but thought I was mssing something when I couldn't locate the switch. Thanks guys.

On a related note: The trunk/boot light I presume is not monitored, so an LED replacement should be okay without resistors, right?

etyu, you can also just disconnect the entire housing with the lens.

Post up some pics once you get it done!
