|  Retrofit new audio 20 with media interface Hello all, I would like to be enlightened on whether the new audio 20 in the facelifted slk with bluetooth /ipod capabilities can be retrofitted in the place of the pre-facelift one? Any help ,part numbers appreciated Thank you |

 | Well since the Audio 20 is all kinda one peice i think it would be easier than a COMAND APS to COMAND APS PLUS retrofit but the media interface control unit and a few other modules would need to be added to make an Audio 20 car work with an Audio 25. I've not checked the wiring diagrams so it could all go out of the window based on them.

| hello every body, this is very interesting. if the new audio 20 can be placed in the r171 before facelift it will be not so expensive solution for us who have the old one. But i can not find any information about that until now. |

| Hi all, I currently have my 04' SLK 200 at the dealer and yesterday they tried to connect the new Audio 20, replacing my old (pre-facelift) one. The bad news is they told me it doesn't work 100% (it seems the unit freezes when using the steering wheel controls). However, I'm not fully convinced because these guys don't seem to know 100% what's happening (they don't even agree among them)...  Sorry for the bad news, but I still hope someone finds the way to retrofit it. Cheers from southern Spain |

| Just done! I just replace my old AUDIO20 with the new CD20 in my SLK doing the modificatin of the wiring on a Fakra M-F adapter. The modification is very easy and you don't need to destroy your car to install it. I will post soon a guide on how to install the new CD20  and some pictures.It works perfectly an it has a MP3 reader (from cd), bluetooth handsfree (need microphones) and AUX input. |

| I'm thinking of upgrading from the new Facelift Audio 20 to a new COMAND APS, so might have one up for grabs soon. I'm just trying to twist the local agents arm to agree to do the change and keep the warranty. I'm coming out to the US mid December, so can cut down on shipping costs if anyone is interested. Not sure if there is a difference between the Audio 20's around the world. I presume mine is an European version, as I'm down in South Africa. PM me if anyone is interested. Cheers Rob |
