| How do you remove the shift knob? How do you remove the little badge on top? An answer to either question is greatly appreciated, Thanks, Edward |

| Just push the leather cover toward the passenger side from the driver's so grab it at the top and bottom of the left edge and push it away from you then lift it up there will be a plastic nut at the bottom of the lever turn it 90 degrees counter clockwise and pull the shifter handle up and it should pop off the shift rod itself. to remove the little badge i would just give it a whack from the inside of the handle once you have removed it. Hope this helps Dan

| Thanks for the instructions, Dan, spot on about removing the knob. i was able to take the entire thing apart (front, back, bottom...), but i just couldn't get the top cap off....there doesn't seem to be access through the bottom, even though it seems like there is...it almosts seems like it's just glued onto a solid chunk of plastic (top half of the knob)....any more ideas? |

| Hi mate sorry it took a while to reply i asked a few people and it does not look like that cap is removable you can buy other shift knobs where that part pops out but this one does appear to be glued in i would say try and prize it off from the top but if whatever you are using slips you are going to scratch the cover and that wont be good. Sorry about this mate i wish i could help more but it really looks like it is glued in place and there is not much we can do about that. Dan

| Thanks for the reply! It really irks me that even the C class has a logo on the shift knob, and an SLK 55 has a silver PLASTIC cap on the shift knob. They couldn't give us an AMG cap, and they couldn't even fish around the parts bin for a MBZ star... |

| I know what you mean it looks like if you want a logo on it you would need either a designo or performance studio one since they have removable tops.
