Hello. I saw I can smoke my rear tail light (I just want the white part to turn black) with decal films. Can you help me to choose what to do? I'm just too scared to use NightShade Taillight paint since I don't know if I can turn back. Does anyone of you have done this mod? Maybe it can help me to decide how to do the job at the best. Thank You Regards

| You can use window tint to get that smoked look, I did the exact samething to tint the white part of my ML320 for an AMG look a couple of years ago and it looked great.

i have never used the film tint. But i heard good things about it. DO NOT USE NIGHT SHADES = Total garbage. I have seen results any they look horrible. I had my tail lights spoked at my body shop. It costs more, but well worth it to do it right. They mix a clearcoat with a shade of black (depending on how dark you want it) and actually spray the lights as you want them. The results is a Glossy paint effect that DOES NOT FADE. I have had mine for over a year now, and wash the car all the time. No problems.

Also anothing thing to point out, is that the tail lights look and glow completely differently than stock. That overall red glow you get at night out of the stock tail lights no longer exists. After tinting AT NIGHT they look similar to an S550 style with the black in the middle. It is a very classy unique look for the SLK which is not common. During the daytime... it looks like one of a kind. Plenty of light comes through, and does not reduce safety. But mine are not completely black. I told my paint shop to leave it a bit lighter. 3rd pic from the top, you can see the red. In real life, they appear close to that.

noregret4life your car look fantastic. My only problem is that I can only smoke the white part not the red one. So I will use the film on the white. I'll check the web sites where they sale Vinyl films and I hope they'll sent to italy. Thank You all. By the way... what size and brand are your wheels! They look terrific! I love them.
