Default Luxury Car Tuning Roof Module (New Version)

Just before Christmas, I purchased a Vario Plus Control Module **PRO** from Luxury Car Tuning (Also know as Tuning Concepts). This module is quite small, no problems at all placing it where it's supposed to go. Installation instructions were good, although a little more detail on taking the car apart & putting it back together again would have been more helpful. First the good news: The remote roof option works like a champ! Now for the bad news: the remote roof option is the ONLY thing that works. Luckily I bought the module directly from the manufacturer, and they sent me an RMA number to return it, which I did today. The story I was given was something about MY2006 SLKs manufactured in late 2005 used some non-standard parts or software, and they can make it work by simply re-flashing the software. I'll provide an update on how it works when I get it back. Best regards to all - it's a top down day here in Miami - about 76 degrees F.
Jim

Curious, why did you go with that brand? Originally it was the Piecha module and recently the SmartTop module. I have one of each and I prefer the latest version SmartTop module (more features). In some instances, it's good to be a follower. I was, when it came to these proven products.

Just to clarify... Which company? There's several listed above.

Sorry Bill T if I caused that - I just thought others should know about my awful experience with them.

Interestingly, I just threw my LCT unit in the trash the other day!! Love my SmartTop!!

Company which need not be named but we all know who i mean is trash. Mine never works unless im moving. But i rarely open or close roof from inside so i just use the remote.

btw, I forgot how to turn it off using the wheel buttons. How do i do it again, i gotta bring the car for them to do warranty greasing to the car it rattles like a babies toy after sitting for so long guess it dried up on me from not putting the roof up and down every now and than like i should.

Turn you key to position 1, press the hangup bottom for 3 seconds, to turn it off.
