I imagine everyone is familiar with the above ad pic on our forums of the "Black series"?. It shows the multispoke AMG rims in a charcoal or some kind of similar color. Anyone know what the correct color is and how and where to order? I'm thinking of upgrading these on my pewter 280 thanks

The Black series comes with Polished 19" inch rims. Are you thinking of my car, or the SL 65 rims, or Addicted2speeds, rims?

Cyberdrakon thanks, I'm referring to the slk55 2006 Pewter pic above your reply. Is that yours? I won't use 19" ,too much for my 280, but can you get them in that charcoal color in 18"?

Well I meant to the right of his reply there is a ad or photo shot of a 2006 SLK55 Pewter/black Nappa with the rims and to the right of that a picture of 1990 560 SEC Pearl Black.

| Gayle 280, If I read it correctly. That is cyberdrakon's signature. His SLK55 had its OEM wheels painted. They're dark grey in color, close to gun metal, maybe darker.

Oh, those are 2 of my cars. 18" stock SLK55 wheels. I had it painted, it's a somewhat matte black with very fine metal flake in it...looks gunmetal in person, charcoal in pictures. i'll try to dig up the paint code if you want.

Yes. thank you, I would appreciate it very much if you could give me the paint code. I love that look with Pewter. Pewter wheel color options (Titanium Finish),are pretty few from the dealer.

Thanks, I guess my signature image is kind of vague. Pewter refers to the colour of the car, Black Nappa is the interior. Anyhow, very conveniently, i took a picture of the colour sample. I have attached the image for you. This colour tag was out of a booklet of maybe 100 colour samples, all of various shades of metallic black. There were 6 booklets just for metallic black to graphite colours!

actually, you could probably print that out, and any competent bodyshop could scan the barcode and identify the exact colour. Then again, if i did it all over again, i'd probably go a shade lighter.

Gayle, the pictures don't do his car justice. the whole car and his customizations, especially the wheel and headlight paint, look a lot better in person.

Apprecite you taking the time to send. Did you just paint? Did you apply a clear coat? I'm wondering if I could get the color in Powder Coat? Probably have to see the actual color to see what you mean about wanting lighter. thanks G

Sorry for not following up on this thread. I didn't have it clear coated, because i was concernced the heat would damage the paint if it was clear coated. Also, clear coat makes it harder to touch up if i scratched the rims. They have a similar colour in powder coat, but once you powder coat you can't change your mind on the colour...
