I had my doubts at first, as to how it would look, but must admit that looks pretty impressive.

Thanks everyone. Took quite a bit of work to put together.

I still have to work out the mounting. As my current setup is only temp.
Will be posting again soon on this with additional pictures and details.

Some Features To come:
  • Sealed design (shock/water proof)
  • Different glow colors (red, blue, white...maybe others)
  • Glow control
    • On/Off
    • Dimmer + On/Off
    • Sound activated + On/Off
    • Activate with Lock/Unlock (only when dark)
    • On/Off with tail lights
More details soon...

Any interest out there for a kit?

Lenny, is the install and mounting as straightforward as the K3BFM?

I think On/Off to go with the tail lights/parking lights would be good (personal opinion), probably tap/connect in parallel (or a Y-plug) with the wire that leads to/from the sidemarker or the front parking lamps. Does the EL work well with 12V DC or are adapters needed? Weatherproofing and shock resistance will be excellent features. I personally prefer white, matches better with the HID lamps.

<Edit: just researched on the web, 12V DC input is fine with the ElectroLuminiscent panel.>

I also think there's more demand out there for the Kleyman 3rd Brakelight Flashing Module (K3BFM). For those unfamiliar with this very useful module and for recent members, here's the link: http://www.slkworld.com/slk-r171-gen...ht-module.html

The install for the brake light module is fairly straightforward, plug-and-play, and has favorable safety implications.

Looks great! Now you need to get some lights coming out of the cowl grill so that lt will look like your motor is exuding a glow. That would be killer mean looking.

They are Monoblock VI replicas
18 x 8.5 P225/40 - front
18 x 9.5 P255/35 - rear
Pirelli PZero Nero

nmslk, i was actually thinking about that. when i was messing with the lighting of the star, one of my leds droped through to light up the front grill. rather interesting look as it looks like the slk has a set of teeth when its backlit

Thanks all for your kind words.

You know, I don't usually like lighting mods of this type, but the lighted star is really growing on me, and I would be very interested if it weren't too ungodly expensive, and could be removed so nobody would notice at time to sell.

Also, what is that light right in the middle of the lower grill?
