Default AMG Hood Fins

Well, I finally decided to go with the AMG fins. I really liked the Piecha design and especially being able to order from noregret4life who was very helpful. I couldn't decide however what color would go with Pewter. I thought Chrome then was afraid sun reflection(I live in the desert) could be a problem, then not sure if the brushed finish would go. I also wasn't sure I would break the grille or something fastening the fins individually.Rather than mess around and cause frustration I went the dealer route. I figure if I have trouble I can just have them do the install. The AMG part comes assembled to new grilles. I didn't realize how simple it was to swap these out, took about 10Min. so I was glad I got them. They look great by the way and match perfectly I think. The dealer is 5 min from my house and I can return them within 30 days if I decide I don't want them. The added bonus is they are fully warrantied and genuine AMG if that is of value. I like that I can easily swap them out should I trade for a later model SLK,(Non-AMG of course).

I included some shots of my ride including a close up of the fins. My first photo attachments so I hope I don't screw this up.

Default AMG Hood Fins

I guess I'm not up on how to post the pics. They do show if you click on my photos. I'll search around the forum to see what I need to do and redo.

sorry about that......

Default AMG Hood Fins

Thanks......Yes the more I look at them the more I like them. No glare in my face either. I never did get the Piecha, but it was close. They proabably look just as good, maybe better by some opinions. I just took what I thought was the best route for me.

the standard AMG ones are probably better, but cost effective wise i chose the Piecha ones.
They look great on your car Gayle, and you were sensible to get OEM ones.

I couldn't hold myself any longer and I bought the AMG fins also!
Dealer cut the price down to €200 (from €260!) and I installed them last week! (No photos yet though!)
I love them!

Those fins look fantastic! They are one of the first things I noticed when I looked at the SLK55 at the dealership. When I was purchasing my slk280, I told the dealership that we have a deal if they throw in those fins

The fins are an absolute must. They look great from outside, but also from inside.

Think I'm gonna go for the OEM, luv the black on the bottom of the fins and somehow to me they just looka bit cooler. Lets face it when you spent 60K on the car I'm not gonna argue over 100 here on there to finish it off. Then again maybe why this is why I'm always skint!!
