Default Piecha vario roof module

Just got the Piecha module installed. Great stuff. Just one thing, when opening the roof by remote (3 clicks), the windows go and stay down. As I like to always drive with the windows up, is there a way to open the roof without rolling down the windows (like the original factory roof opening operation does)?
The other thing is that Function 5 (automatic central locking) when enabled locks the glove and the storage boxes as well! To open them, one has to switch off rthe engine. Anyway, I have disabled that function.
BTW, I have (I believe) the new module (product number ends with a 1).

Congradulations on the module, I unfortunatley dont know how to adjust it as I havent installed one yet on my car.

Hopefully experienced members with the modules will chime in.

Interesting. I have the original Piecha module in my wife's SLK 350. I'm sure that the windows retract, the top retracts, and then the two front windows close automatically. I find that annoying. When I drive top down, I want the windows down. On my SLK 55 with the SmartTop, the front windows stay down. The locking issue has been addressed, I'm not sure about it.

Yes, I don't like not being able to control the windows either. I would prefer they remain either up or down. (next gen of module... )

But I don't think there is a way to control that on the module version I have. (mine is SmartTop, but I think Piecha is using that module now too)

The locking function has been discussed before and the solution is to not use that option.

Jamesbond007, with the later version of the roof module (and piecha IIRC gets thems from the same supplier as mods4cars), i.e., SmartTop type, the windows will be lowered if you retract the roof using the remote key fob(unlock button), and the windows stay down. You can do 2 quick clicks on the lock button from the key fob after the roof has retracted, and the windows will be raised, but then the car is locked.

The original issue Piecha module (non-SmartTop type) that -1- is talking about DOES NOT lower the windows when you retract the roof using the unlock button on the key fob. To lower windows in this one you press unlock button 3 more times and the windows will be lowered.

If you really want the original issue Piecha module (where the winodws do not lower on retracting the roof) Bill T still has one, check out SLKStore and click ebay items at the top row menu.

Thanks for your response. It's OK, I can live with it. I essentially wanted to know if there was a way. It does not matter that much, I can still raise the windows from inside with the touch of 2 buttons....

i never drive with my windows up as i think it looks so much better with them down. Only when my girlfriends nagging about her hair blowing about gets to the stage of unbearable do i put them up.
is the Piecha module better than the smarttop V2 module?

If you're speaking of the ORIGINAL Piecha, first out about a year ago, then no. I like the additional features of the SmartTop v2. The Piecha was good, but only down and up. No additional features, but it worked well. Some said it would drain battery power. I've never experienced that.

Yep, need to improve my ratio: do something rather than watch.....

Perhaps I shouldn't leave my computer connected all day long.

That is confirmed by Piecha, although they offer an update. But I don't feel like doing the uninstall/install thing again, plus I would be worried to damage the power supply cable that had to be crimped.

Function remote roof opening does not work any more.

Closing OK. Rest OK for the moment.
Not happy!
