| My slk 350 has command, but the original buyer did not opt for navigation. Can the command unit be upgraded/programmed for navigation? Is this something i would need to have done at the dealership? Any idea on price for the upgrade? (US) Thanks, Devlin |

| Would need to check if your car has nav pre-wire i cant remember the code off of the top of my head sorry but if you give your dealer a call and ask them to check if your car has it installed they can pull your datacard. If it is wired then yes it is possible to add it without too much hassle if it is not then forget it whole harnesses have to be installed big big money

| I think the code was 528. You should be able to find it under you hood on a sticker listing a bunch of these codes. And since it looks like your car is a 2005 like mine, there is a good chance it is prewired as mine was. Where are you in NJ devlinmc? I upgraded my command to Navi full package and can hunt down another navi kit for you if you have the prewiring. Last edited by noregret4life; 02-28-2007 at 12:01 PM. |

| My mistake. The code is 528 for navi prewiring. There are a few stickers with codes under the hood. Check them all. I think there is one right under the hood itself, not the one by the front fan I'm by exit 18 on the turnpike (near hackansack) The TSB appears to be locked online now, but i have a copy of it at home that shows the step by step for the install. |

| Congrats! I'll contact my supplier to see if he can gather up the entire kit for you as he did for me. I don't go to AC much, but would be happy to meetup sometime once the weather gets nice. I'm sure i can get a few other SLK owers from around here to at least go for a drive half way. I'll drop you a line once i hear back from my supplier. -Lenny |

| Lenny - I'm in the same boat - just picked up my SLK this past weekend (which is prewired). I went to the dealer and they quoted me $2100 for the navi hookup. Could you also forward me the kit info as I miss the navi from the TL I gave up? ![]() Thx |

Here is the contact for the navi kits and bluetooth adapters for our cars. Gary mbenzparts@yahoo.com Just mention to him that Lenny sent you and reference my email: noregret4life@hotmail.com this way you should get the price i got. Price should be around $785 shipped for the entire kit, down to the last screw. A few members on this forum already have the navi kit from him. Hope it helps, Lenny | |

| i wanted to do the same thing when i first got my car (reason i got on forums). Unfortunatly i did not have the pre wiring (one of the 06 cost cuts). if your going to spend 2g's, you can get an aftermarket 7 inch touchscreen Double Din headunit that will do WAYYYYY more then the comand. Just throwing it out there. |

So when you posted asking about the phone kit before the same info applies. You first install the phone then the bluetooth, you can't have one without the other

| Bummer. Sucks to have to buy a phone I don't need. I feel the phone(s) they are offering are "yesterdays" models. I also plan to get an iPhone so I'm sure they don't have a path to that. |

| I agree mate the phone system is very outdated but if you install the bluetooth module then you would be able to use your iPhone (very cool choice by the way) with the car but it would not use the cars antenna or get charged while in use.

| I could live with that other stuff not working/being used as long as my current Sony (w810i) works and the soon to be released iPhone does. Do I need to have it installed by the dealer before delivery? |
