Default Ipod Nano 8GB Red for my SLK55 AMG

Guys, I just ordered a Red 8GB Ipod Nano to match my SLK55's Black & Red interior and as strong alternative instead of inserting sevral MP3 Cd's to the command, such as Arabic MP3 Cd or Rap MP3 CD which takes attention of the road, So I decided a 8GB ipod is better and more compact, portable in which when I finish listening to my tunes in the car, I can use it at home to listen to music while I read or in the free time.

I just would like to confirm with you Tech's, is that Ipod Nano Compatible with the Mercedes Ipod adaptor ? Because I am really considering to install the Blue Tooth Adaptor and the Ipod Kit from the dealer.

I also had them to engrave my nick name which is ''MeanMachine'' and My Full name on the back of the Ipod

Information on the Red Ipod:
Volume, meet virtue
You make choices every day, from the clothes you wear to the music you play. Now making a choice means making a difference. In 4GB and 8GB models1, the iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED holds up to 2,000 songs, 25,000 photos2, and a little hope. That’s because $10 from every iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED sold goes directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. Which means your iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED sounds good and does good at the same time.

I noticed the other day that UK dealers have a limited edition of 1,000 black 8GB Nanos for sale. The only difference is that they have the MB logo engraved on them, and the price is about the same as I paid for mine, so not too much of a ripoff.

il 3afoo 7bayeb, I am supposed to pick up the SLK today, So its delayed to tommorow morning; Hopefully the Ipod kit will be what I am expecting it to be and I agree with you; I hate all those wires going through the dashboard such as my Sony Ericsson K700i Mobile Car Charger etc.

If the Ipod kit is good, might get a Dension Kit for My Cayenne S; MJawa congrats in advance on the ipod kit.

MJawa55, You got a pretty close price compared to what it costs here, Just 4 Pounds more than the price you got; which is about average on these kit retails; I know labour is a pain in the bumm, They tend to work slowly to get a higher labour price. There payment is done per hour say 10pounds an hour as an example so they work for two days say 6 hours a day X2 days which equals to 12 hours and 120 pounds.

If the kit is easy to fix; I would of fixed both the Bluetooth and the Apple Ipod Integration kit just for the fun of installing things correctly and the happiness you derive for getting the job well done, Satisfaction.

At 4pm Today, I got my SLK from the Service department with the UHI Bluetooth cradle installed and working properly; Just let me say that the Phone's reception is superb. I was really worried that my Ipod Integration Kit will be ending up sounding 40% lower than the Radio or CD Changer; I loaded in my friends Ipod Nano in the Armrest compartment and selected a strong bassy song (bon jovi's its my life)to test the Ipods Qualtiy with the Harmon Kardon Sound System, and amazing it sounded well and If I was a passenger I wouldnt have noticed a slight increase nor a decrease in quality or sound level; Its just like having a CD changer but in the size of your Palm holdin 2,000tunes of shear pleasure.
I hope upcoming SLK owners will read my review and find it very helpful!

Alroumi, looks good.

In the pics of IPOD installs I've seen before, there was actually a little "bed" for the IPOD to sit in, plastic with the same black "flock" covering, so it wasn't just sliding around in the bottom of your storage compartment.
