Default Scissor door?

hi guys just quick question for all you.
is there anyone know any scissor door kit which do not need any cutting or re-wiring?

I've done my study, and they said that the best on the market is the kit from LSD-door,but it need some re-wiring and body cutting.

I also come across GT-factory which look tempting. any suggestion?

and one more question is there anyone know where can I get Wald bodykit in Australia?

thanks.

Never heard of them referred to as scissor doors, not too many people have them on the R170 as far as i know all the kits require rewiring, some require welding. There is one member here that has them, they look nice. Others will tell you they look like shit and not to spend the money, its your car do what you like to it.

I think most of the know it as lambo door. Yeah I think so to.but just wondering if there is any kit that just bolt on.

I'm just thinking of doing so.probably at the moment I just change my rims first. any suggestion regarding good spring that I can use?

thanks

There are bolt on kits, I’ve seen them on ebay and other sites from $300 $1200, shipping them to OZ may be expensive. I don't know a thing about these kits, not sure which one is good and which ones to stay away from.
Maybe someone that has lambo doors will chime in.

B55 used a company called Vertical Doors (try doing a search on the internet).

i love these doors. some kits are very expensive and some on ebay are not..
there's a company in turkey and they make lambo door kit for all cars and some of my friends have it and have no problem with it. not so expensive and same as the expensive ones

Have a chat with tungster and B55:

tungster's got a set of 'LSD Doors' on his R170, and is really happy with them. The LSD Doors are also the only brand that seems to have been crash tested. They do however need a modification to the fender to allow the piston to travel correctly.

B55's got a set from 'Vertical Doors Inc' on his R171 and is dead happy with them, and they apparently do not have to modify the fender.

Personally, I think I'm probably going to go the LSD Doors route, as from what I've been reading, they seem to be a more sturdy product.

I guess I am the only one,who thinks "Scissor doors" would look ugly and for sure as hell unclassy for any mercedes benz.
Maybe I say that cause I am originally from germany...

But there is a saying there about mercedes benz. You leave it as it is "Original" adding or changing something that major ruins the whole look and the idea of a mercedes benz.
In germany its known as : "mercedes benz never ever talks or compares their cars to any other vehicle on earth, because its unique in every step of the way, but the others do" adding scissor doors to a car shows, you wanna be a lamborgini owner...and the italians would laugh about it. Especially of you do that to a classy mercedes benz, Keep it real. . .

Just like you don't put one of those bumper leather protection on a mercedes benz.Thats like wearing a rolex watch, with a wal-mart suit.

HA HA - I kind of agree! The Lambo doors are impressive on a Lamborghini, but I had a chance to test out those aftermarket doors on some vehicles modified by DUB, and I would not put them on my car. You crack the door open and swing it out a few inches and it comes to a hard stop with a loud clunk if you're not careful. Then you move it up. The whole design looks like it would be getting out of whack all the time. I like the analogy about the Walmart suit. I have the clear 3M bra on my car, is that acceptable?

Thanks for the opinion. I think no one get it better than people from the country that make the car right,hehehhe..

I will not put the Scissor door as it is to expensive to put on for a single modification. Maybe later I will put on WALD body kit when I have the green.

This is the pic of my car. just put new rims 2 weeks ago

Haha, thanks...I am known within my buddies for my funny analogy, I always do that,to make people realize how it is ;-)
I assume if its clear it can look nice ;-)

ps: don't get me wrong, scissor doors are nice, but they belong to a lamborgini.

You want people to look at your benz and say "wow, what a nice mercedes benz! and the last thing you would wanna hear as a mecedes benz owner is " wow, nice mercedes benz, with lamborgini doors "

no, that's more like walking around with a condom on...will it keep you protected? sure.....but it sure doesn't look very good for the people that know what to look for.

Michigan is famous for its roads in constant disrepair, and especially in the spring, the roads are full of potholes and littered with rocks from busted concrete. I didn't like the clear bra and didn't it have it applied on my old SLK 230 and within a year, I regretted it. After almost six years, the front end looked like it'd been sand-blasted. So, while the clear bra may not be an optimal solution, its visual impact is almost imperceptible and it does a fantastic job protecting the paint.
