Default 3rd Brake light flasher

Hello all R170 Drivers,

I don't know how many of you may have read about the 3rd brake light flasher in the R171 threads, so i would like to extend the offer to all of you as well.

The "Kleyman 1" connects to your center brake light. When you hit the brakes it will pulse/flash 3 times. There are various modes you can choose from which include repeat, speed adjusted flashes, Pulse flashes, and a "service" mode for when you go to the dealer.

There is no cutting of wires involved and the module can be removed at any time.

Installation time should be about 20min. and very straight forward.

you can read more about this in my original thread:

http://www.slkworld.com/general-modi...flasher-9.html

There are 2 vidoes of it in action there as well.

Though i have not checked the setup of the R170, from what i remember it should be identical to the R171 connections.

If there is interest in this module for the R170, i will make the proper connectors for your cars as well.

Very Cool.

Thanks for thinking of us too!

I would like one and will check it out. Anything to help keep people alert and off my tail.

Thanks again.

SLKman, I will need a little help from you.

Seeing as i don't have access to an R170, if at all possible do you think you can check out the connectors for me, and perhaps take a couple of pics?

I can guide you to where and what needs to be removed.

Dan may be able to help here as well, if its ok with you SLKman, i will contact Dan and he can provide some instruction on removing the pannel and all.

Let me know
Thanks

Ok, it looks like i found the correct harness for the R170. Not as easy to come by as the R171, but i got a hold of 2 at the moment that can be used.

SLKman, your module will be ready soon. I'll PM you on where to send payment and all once i get it 100% done.

lowly R170 !!? You drive a future classic... would you call a 190 SL the same?

I don't think so. The R170 was and still is a beautiful car. More a cruiser than a sportscar but even so... still a beauty

So here is the deal my friends.

I only have 1 module left on hand. This is the one SLKman ordered when i initially started the release of the modules. So that one is his.

But... i can see much positive feedback from this module, and so i will be posting a new order for these.

Also if you have a different car you may want a module for, please Add yourself to the list and provide the year/model

Please add yourself to the list below, and REPOST ENTIRE LIST

Default You can make one of these.

This is a more common modification for motorcycles, where it is doubly important to be seen. Many motor vehicle departments and motorcycle instructors recommend flashing the brake lights to get attention from the cages (cars) following you. There are several commercial models available, but I decided to make my own. I’ve posted the schematic at http://frontiernet.net/~rbipes/Reflex/ - follow the Brake light flasher link.
