| Welcome. Can you tell us the differences you can see and feel between the 2 cars? That would be interesting. SLKman

| Solstice handles really nice – very sure footed. Steering is a little tighter than the SLK. Fit and finish is off, but not much. SLK is slightly roomier, Sol fits like a glove. I autox the Sol and have an ECM, header, CIA, and cat back on it. I estimate 200 – 210 HP from the 2.2L. I run 255R40 18 Azenis 615’s. With the limited slip diff drifting is not hard at all and can easily be controlled by throttle modulation With the 5 speed gear box, it is a blast to drive. For a 30K car, you can’t beat it. The SLK is by far more mature. The torque is the major difference – that moves me. I’d love to have a 5 or 6 speed in it however….. Over the winter I’m looking at a Kleemann Kompressor & ECM. Spring should bring some new rims and tires probably Snetterton and some AO48s. I think both cars are comparable based on price. Handling is very close, the extra cost buys you some nice design work, more power and a level of sophistication you don’t get in the Sol. I love ‘em both. Just one man’s opinion. Feedback is welcome. Out of town for the week end but will get it next week. |
