| I bought my car in Florida and drove it to Texas non-stop 70-85mph, except for fuel, with no problems. I to, am planning a 10-12 hour trip this weekend. Houston to Atlanta, then back. Obvious answer to your question would be to have MB dealer check it out before your trip. There was a thread about clear hood shields. The clear shield would protect your car nicely, Or get a bra for the car. Just stay back from those 18-wheelers...they like to throw rocks! Have a safe trip. SLKman

| Check fluids when car is at room temperature (i.e., before staring engine in the morning): engine oil (as stated above), coolant level, fluids for the windshield wiper, brake fluid level, tire air pressure (measure, not visual), clean windshield/windscreen. For myself, I prefer a bra over the clear shields. (Does anyone know of a reasonable seller?) Oh, make sure the antenna is installed after removing the car cover (just poking fun)

| Check oil, tire pressure, radiator, brake and window washing fluid. Check wear on your tires. 3M makes a nice clear bra. You can order on line from numerous resellers and have an auto tint shop put it on for you. Bring a small pillow for lumbar support, maybe one for a passenger. Take frequent breaks (~ 2 hours). Watch out for debris on the roads, don't ride up behind a truck (flying rocks). Watch out at night for frogs (they will get stuck in your front grill) |

| 1500 miles won't bother it at all. I've done a Dallas to Atlanta, dragged it and then back again. TX > seattle the long way and then Seattle to Savannah in 47 hours.. the car wasn't the thing slowing us down there either. Just check the things you should check twice monthly anyhow and it'll be great.
