| If there is valet, I usually say I will tip you now, But I will park it myself. If they say no, Then I will find a gas station, Ask the attendant can if I can park my car for a few hours and offer them a few dollars. If that will not work, I would rather park on the street and walk. Most valet guy's will RAPE your car, I know this all too well. I have seen guys near my job drive the cars like they hate it/ Stole it. They park bumper to bumper *Bumper's actually touching, Search inside trunk's/ Glove boxes/ Compartments. You have to know when you start any car, You will not drive off at WOT, These guys will drive off hard, They do not care, It is not there car, So why would they care. I have even witnessed them curb rash the wheels. This may sound extreme, But I would not valet even my beater. |

| We don't have valet parking where I am, and we always have plenty of parking anywhere in town. If we DID have valet parking I wouldn't use it.....................I'm the ONLY one who drives my car (apart from the wife, of course). |

| We had a Christmas party in our Section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America about three years ago at a restaurant which (though it was really out in the country) had valet parking. Well the valet who came out to park my car was so HUGE that I feared he would break my car! Though it suffered no damage, our Social Chairperson had so many complaints about this, that when we had another party at this restaurant, it was arraigned that we have no valet parking. Here in the Oklahoma City area, we frankly don't need it to go to a good restaurant, and we don't want it. By ordinance, all places of business outside of the central business district (aka "downtown") must provide plenty of free parking, with parking spaces at least 8 feet wide. The local MBCA section religiously avoids any restaurant for a meeting place which has "pay" or valet parking. And we meet at those restaurants. I always park among other Mercedes, as I know their owners will respect my Mercedes cars. And, when I park at other places, I always try to park a bit out of the way -- and never under a tree. (Bird poop is the best clear coat remover known.)

| I personally wouldn't even valet the last car I owned, and it was just over half the value of the SLK350, so I can pretty much guarantee I will never valet my slk. Although some valets are pretty good, I have also seen a few here in SA gun it, park close, throw open doors, and generally not give a crap about the cars they are parking. I'd rather walk a mile than valet. |

| Tummy makes a good point.... I'll bet the Valet's are more careful with the car than the average Joe that parks beside you and opens their door. Typically valets park in a designated area, away from the public. I tend not to use valets, partly because I've always been leery with an unknown driver working the clutch on a manual transmission car. Actually I never get the valet to park the smart car I have either, but that's because no one can figure out how to work it! Cheers! Dang

| Living in Vegas I valet most of the time at the hotels. A $3.00 up front tip and another $2.00 to the driver on pick up usually ensures good care, and if possible nearby parking. I think its actually safer that parking in a garage spot. A $5.00 tip at my local Casino gets me VIP service and a special spot in front of the valet booth. |
