| Interesting. Looks like the innermost 3rd pair of headlamps is a sticker and not a real one (part of the camouflage/deception).

| That version of the SLR will be a collectors item something that collectors will go to Lake como and admire current market cars in the near future.

| Yes, I agree that we have got a classic in the making here. I also agree that the third headlight set toward the center is a fake stick-on, and part of the camouflage. The car would really look even better without them. My wife is always wanting to redecorate and refurnish the house, and I say "well, I'll just go out and get an SLR" and she says "go ahead". Perhaps, after seeing these pictures, I will. That will fix her, right?

| The problem is that in my part of the world, the "slightly used" SLRs are selling for more than they cost new. But, if I can cut through the camouflage on the pictures above correctly, one might consider that car to be more of an investment than a "daily driver car" , though it could be used as one. In the US, the stock market is falling every day, as is the value of the US dollar against the Euro. Traditional "stocks and bonds" investments just aren't doing well. Yet, I recently discovered that an electric train set I got when I was 2 years old is worth about five to ten thousand dollars today. It cost $25 in 1945. It makes one wonder if the true long term investments available to us in this country might be in personal property that will increase in value. Were I to buy an SLR, I would put it in my garage and keep it there awaiting a value increase, to invest for my old age. But wait -- I'm almost 65 years old. I'm already in my "old age".

| Well our dealer has an '04 (I believe) SLR coupe in his showroom that originally had an MSRP of about $375. It has low miles, but has a few paint blemishes here and there which I don't know will buff out on those carbon fiber panels. Dealer's asking price is $525 on that car today! If he gets that price (or close to it) the appreciation would make that car a high paying investment, over not too long a period of time. I'll be checking on the status of that car, to see how much money is really made on it. A few problems with a new '09 SLR as an investment for me. First, I don't know if I could keep myself from driving it and putting serious miles on it. Second, it would tie up about 1/3 of my investment portfolio. My financial adviser says it is no good to have 1/3 of the portfolio in a single investment. So, alas, I'll probably have to pass, but it was a nice dream!

| 525 gets you a new one over here I am not sure about the one on your showroom floor but I recall seeing a 2004 silver over red for the high 300's.
