MBCA Raffle....

Has anyone bought tickets in the Mercedes Benz Club of America Raffle?

I must admit, the raffle draws me. The black and red special edition interior of the SL550 sounds quite tasty. Also, the though of winning an SLK350 I could turn into a total racer would be quite nice as well. Imagine the ringer that car would be. How many people have SLK's with every spec of sound deadening and comfort features removed?

Oh the $10,000 could get me my supercharger early even. Or some really well done black flames for the front. Okay, the flames might be a bit gawdy. I prefer to look stock and carry a big stick anyway. Supercharger, coil overs and AMG gauges.

This is the second one this year (I am first time member.) The magazine is nice, but wow, accourding to the prices, and amount they will take in, it leaves $318,910 worth of profit for them, for just this raffle, not including the earlier one. Where does all of this money go? Do they donate it to something?

According to their list, they take in almost $1 million dollars a year, and last year have an excess of $328,062.

Am I missing something, like a great free major car show or something?

Maybe we can pettition them to donate the overage so we can start an official SLK museum, and get the original show car, etc. for it!
