Default New Windscreen Photos (WindRestrictor)

I know I've promised to post some new photos and I've finally got around to it. I appologize for the delay. Our mounting method requires no drilling or permanent modification at all to your vehicle.
We currently have received tons of photos regarding hard wiring with the new 171 so now we have access to providing instructions for our brake light modules if anyone needs them.

Here is a rundown of our BLM...

Brake Light Module Option This option is a very nice option. It's a module that you can install in your console "waterfall compartment" or in your trunk on your rear panel. It has 2 knobs on it. After installed the first knob will control the Running light intensity to your product. You can use this knob as a dimmer knob to adjust the illumination while you are driving with your running lights on or headlights on. The other knob controls the brake light intensity to the product. You can adjust this knob if you want the product to illuminate when you apply pressure to your brakes.

With this option you can set the product for the following:
  • Restrictor can be set to come on only with the head lights,
  • Restrictor can be set to come on only with the brake lights,
  • Restrictor can be set to produce a certain illumination while driving (like a mid-intensity) and then produce a brighter glow when you apply pressure to your brakes when you stop. Kind of like a 3rd brake light option.
  • Also, this module will allow you to turn off product all together if you want. If you did not want it on for some reason, then you could turn both knobs down and then you'll just have the laser etching.
Finally, our new battery packs come with a built in battery pack (9V). So just flip the toggle switch and you can have the restrictor illuminate at the intensity you desire even when the car is off. (good for car shows). So this is a wonderful option that allows you to tap into your running lights and your brake lights simultaneously, and adjust each independently.

Please let us know if there is any information we can provide you with. We are available M-ST 11am - 6pm Central.

As always, we provide a 10% discount to all forum members. Simply enter the discount code preferred10 for this discount.

There are quite a few reflections on that screen. Does teh tilt back angle mean you get distracting flashes from the sky?

hmm... I wonder if you can get non-reflective coatings like I have on my glasses? They make a huge improvment when driving with the top down.

If they cost like the coatings on glasses, might want to reconsider

I have, on very, very rare occasions, caught the sun's reflection in my rearview mirror. But it has to be just the right (or wrong) conditions for it to occur; time of day & direction of driving. And even then, it doesn't last long.

I also, on ocassion, catch street lights reflecting off of it, but it really is no nuisance. Not anymore than driving past the street light itself.

We currently have received tons of photos regarding hard wiring with the new 171 so now we have access to providing instructions for our brake light modules if anyone needs them.
I recently installed the lighted windrestrictor and love the quality and the ease of installation!! Great product. However, I am having an issue specifically with the lack of any wiring instructions for the brake light module. I was happy to see step by step instructions in the mailed package for the windrestrictor but surprised there was no reference or instructions for the brake light module. So, I am asking for instructions as indicated in the quote above. I am not looking for operator instructions. That information is available on your web site. (Thanks)
I am interested specifically in the wiring connection instructions. Where do I run the wires to connect to the brake light and running lights? Which colored wires connect to what? A schematic would be nice, and a starting point to where I would tap into the SLK's brake wires. Thanks for any help.

I've drove both the 170 and 171 with our product and did not have any problems at all with glare or reflections.

As for the BLM instructions, please submit a request to sales@windrestrictor.com I have complete installation photos for hard wiring into your head lamps or brake lights or both!

thanks...
