$65,175 which includes destination but not the $1300 gas guzzler tax.

http://www.mbusa.com/models/main.do?modelCode=SLK55

The 2008 MSRP was $64,025.

I live in a smaller market and there is only one dealer for miles. I am ordering a 2009 SLK55. Any idea on what I might get off MSRP before I negotiate?

Are you planning to put in other options like: PIII, Lighting, Airscarf?

The market is soft right now for high end models (good for buyers), so you may be able to get around $3K below MSRP but shoot for $5K-$6K below MSRP first.

Thats not much of an increase, I highly doubt it will piss potential buyers off.

Guys - new to the world of SLK's and getting into the position to have to make some hard choices......

Couple of questions - other than the exterior facelift, is there any authoritative list of the differences between an 08 SLK55 and an 09?

And the real pain - 08 SLK55 vs 09 350? Given that I love the AMG body style, I'd probably add that to the price of the 350 - with the options I want I'm already getting north of $66k.

Given that I can find '08 55 with the options I want (but not that damn color - I guess NO ONE stocked a Storm Red '55?!) easily in the early $60, I'm seriously torn..

I'm not even stateside yet, but I'm already hurting myself thinking about it. Anyone have any idea how motivated the dealers are to move the '08 55's?

Advice welcome.... Oh, and not that it really matters a whole lot, but delivery time is not super critical - it will be Sept before I'm fully moved, so it's not like I have it tomorrow....

The storm red is fairly hard to acquire on dealers lot, its usually a customer spec'd car. The 2008 has not much differences between the 2009 model. Its mostly exterior, new steering wheel and command screen. I believe its a 10% quicker shifts and a higher revving.

Welcome UK-C200.

Main difference between the 08 and 09 SLK55 is the COMAND system. Dealers are motivated to sell the prior year models. You could get a relativley nice price for an 08. Keep searching/email dealers for color and availability.

The 2009 COMAND is a pretty substantial update as you alluded. Just getting built in Bluetooth is nice.
