Default Getting around the front license plate

Hey guys, as some of you know it's mandatory in most states to have 2 license plates, one in the back and one in the front. Well, we all know that it ruins the lines and look of the vehicle, so if you are in a state which requires you to have a front plate, what do you do to get around having to drill holes in the bumper? That is, if you even try to get around it.

I was thinking that maybe a good place to put the license plate would in the black section on the airdam, that way it's not so obvious.

I've heard that some people will just put it in the trunk and if they get pulled over they will show the license plate.

Gominigo.com, here's a link: http://www.gominigo.com/NHLPB-MB.html

They have one for the SLK, using the front tow hook area to mount the license plate bracket as mentioned by Tslick.

That's where mine has been for the last two years, but I'm not fooling myself into believing that this will keep the cop from giving me a fixit ticket. I'll just wait until that day comes (knock on wood not too soon) and then I'll do the tow-hook installation thing that others have already pointed you to.

Great idea, too bad it's way off center. Couldn't live with that look. There are other alternatives, mounting to the mesh screen would be my choice. My SLK came with the tag holder installed. Front plates are required in Virginia and I have no problem with the traditional mount.

I didn't say I would live with the look for long, if you catch my drift.

I think most people have your idea, once it is inspected and signed off, you can remove the plate until you get the next fixer ticket. Of course it would not work that well if you get the fixer ticket too often.

Another towhook mount that I like but costs more is this:

You can offset mount it a bit more towards the center though it is still not quite center. It would be good if someone can come up with a removable mount on the airdam.
