| Two weeks ago, we got a 12 week old French Bulldog puppy. These photos were from the day we brought her home. She was 7 lbs, but suppose to get up to 28 lbs when full size. Right now, she's gaining a little less than one pound per week. I hope she doesn't get too big otherwise I might have to switch the SLK for something a little bigger, since it's our only car at home right now. Does anyone else have a dog with the SLK being their only car? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Congrats, I love bulldogs and I've got an english bulldog a few years ago but right now the two german shepards that I've got are fine for the security at our ranch. What I would like to have is a Huskie some dahy as I like how they look, I've had my share with dog experiences however the german shepard and the saluki's are the best so far.

| Forgot to say that her name is "Noodle". I've wanted a dog my whole life and finally have enough stability in our schedules to be able to have one. So far her favorite activities are to chew on things, sleep, and poop & pee everywhere. At least she doesn't appear to get carsick and she loves meeting new people. |

| Ivy has a doberman lexi, that goes with her everywhere in the car. I dont know if you guys remember her, but she used to float around here and go to some meets. Anyway, she put a cover on the seat and dog was always in the car, If you look at the NE Meet Pics from i think sept of 06, the dog used in alot of the pics is Lexi |

| Congratulation!! she looks very cute! We had a Airedale Terrier for 10 years (his name is Snowy, he was named after the dog in the famous TinTin cartoon. He passed away in Feb while I was on business trip, my heart still hurt just to mention. He was a happy dog and quite a character, everyone in our family love him to death. We don't have kids, so he is completely spolied. We are thinking to get a pair of Welsh Terrier (looks like a mini Airadale) next year when the basement is finished. Thanks for sharing, dogs are human's best friend and I am sure she will be a great additions to your family member. |

| 160 pound Great Dane here. Not sure I could get him in the SLK if I used a 2 x 4 to pry him in. Always thought it would make for a good picture though. I would have to cover the leather seats as his nails are massive. We leased a ML 350 the same day we bought the SLK so we could move the dog around. This is my second Dane and 4th SUV for hauling them around. My wife likes to remind me that we have spent over $200K on dog haulers. I think se is trying to tell me she doesn't like driving SUV's :-)

But they can be real PITAs when they don't want to listen. Both her and her Alaskan Malamute big brother. Congrats on the new pup Tummy! Last edited by dltslk; 08-06-2008 at 04:06 PM. |

| Congratulations on the new pup Tummy! We used to own a Jack Russell when I was little but my Mum had allergies and it had to go, however, I'd buy a dog in a heartbeat if I was allowed ![]() If I had the choice it would be between a Labradoodle, Husky, Chihuahua or Pug. |

| Tummy: That is a very cute dog! We have a Shih Tzu and a Pomeranian. They both ride in the SLK very well, But, with both of them, there really isn't room for a human passenger. But I find the SLK's interior and seating materials to be very resistant to any damage by dogs' nails and such. And our dogs do so enjoy riding in the convertible with the top down. I recall once that I had both dogs in the car with the top down. I looked around and the Shih Tzu was gone. Just gone! As I hadn't made any stops or opened the door, I began to look around, and found him riding on top of the trunk lid. He was having a great time back there, but wouldn't have enjoyed it much if I had accelerated rapidly -- as the trunk lid was well waxed! I slowed the car down gradually, and grabbed the Shih Tzu -- put him in the seat and scolded him. All went well after that. Actually, we have four vehicles: an '07 SLK 280, An '04 C 320, An '01 Honda S 2000, and a '98 Ford truck. My dogs prefer to ride in the SLK. In my 64 years, I don't know what life would be like without a dog or two in the house, as it has always been that way. Your dog will be the best friend you ever had. |

| Thanks everyone for the nice comments. We're going to wait and see how big she gets, but we talked about getting a beater car drive around if she gets too big to sit with a passenger in the SLK. The condo where we live has very limited parking which we have to pay for, so a second car might be difficult. This thread on the G35 forum gave me nightmares last night! (dog has major accident in car) |
