Default Locate Speed Signal wire

Hi, I'm about to attemp to install a Pioneer AVIC Z2 in my 2006 SLK280. Manual says to interface to the Speed Signal Input to improve my nav performance. Can't find any info on this wire. Am replacing Audio 20 unit.

Also will be trying to connect to Telaid GPS splitter and using built in GPS. Thinking about using telaid extra microphone inut as well.

Any comments?

Thanks,
Rolf

Welcome to the site!

Sorry but no speed signal wire on a 280 its CANBUS, GPS connection is simple enough if you have the right FAKRA connector (will probably need to order from MB)

Default Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the quick reply. I can now stop searching the threads for the signal. Should be interesting install. Found lots of info on this site. Just got the SLK280 2 weeks ago. Had a squeeky roof. Found answers here and fixed it right up. This is a good group.

If you don't mind, how about some pix of the install?

Good luck. I hope aftermarket radio installs will become more common. I would recommend using the supplied GPS antenna with the AVIC-Z2. No need to complicate that simple aspect of installation. You'll have other challenges. Please document your install with pics for others to follow.
