| And now their's two... AMG announced the SL63 http://www.mercedes-amg.com/index2.h...en/lounge/news It's interesting. My comment on styling is the 70's hood ala muscle car. I'd prefer the domes like my SLK32 or the classic 300SL. As to the two, that leaves the G series and SLK series without the 63 engine. The AMG G series has not been in production for two model years. |

| My guess would be a SL65 black series. The progression seems to be the 55 [SLK], 63 [CLK] so the next step is the 65. The SL65 is the most powerful AMG to weight. http://www.slkworld.com/general-disc...html#post49044 |

| If I was in the market for a new Sports car that would be it, I absolutely love the changes to the new SL AMG.

| Classic aggressiveness good description -- I'm very curious about the new 7 speed MCT transmission ---- anybody heard anything I would think that the next engine for the SLK55 would be the new 550 AMG made with this trans --- if they upgrade the 550 like they have the 350 --- it would be well into the mid to high 400 HP range with great torque and could stay na (no-SC) sorry for the off topic but these two cars (SL SLK) are closely related and have/ do share drive trains

| I'm really begining to doubt we'll ever see an SLK63 - in whatever platform, Methings MB has something else in store for the AMG SLK and are keeping it pretty close to their chest for now.

| I agree that a manual option would be good although with the trend I doubt they will offer it --maybe this MCT will be good though. Close to the vest but maybe a AMG new 550 engine

| I see a v6 twin turbo AMG for the SLK's future, I sense a 3.2L C32 engine with a twin turbo setup.

| Or a TT version of the 3.5L. But even so, such an engine offering would definitely scratch it off my list as a possible replacement - I just like rumbling, burbling, snorting, non-politically-correct high performance V8's *L*. A version of the new 5.5L V8 would be much more preferable than a tea kettle V6 IMO. Not saying such an engine wouldn't be as powerful as a V8, it could easily be so - just not my cup of tea (or tea kettle noises *L*).

| I dont like how V6's sound it reminds me of modified Golf R32's, I've got a lot of cars on my list and the R172 AMG is one of them. I plan to use and get every penny worth of the Cayenne for 5-6 years and then treat myself for something nice, fun and reasonably priced. I would love to get an other AMG and if I had the resources to right now the C63 or CLK63 BS AMG would be one of them. In regards to other manufacturers the GT3 and Exige S are also on my mind too. I was planning of getting a 2009 G55 AMG but I couldnt justify the hefty price tag.

| Sounds like whatever way your future plans work out, you'll still be having fun driving something nice Mohammed, really not sure what I'll be doing with mine yet - will hinge a lot on what the R172 ends up as. I'm torn right now between beginning some serious mods on mine, or waiting a bit to see what the next gen SLK brings and trading it in on that. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutley LOL!

| Instead of modifications, I've started to invest in the local stock exchange since June and I am doing fine thankfully. I personally think headers are really expensive and I am not really convinced to get those for 20hp and 20tq, the SLK55 will be with me till for as long as possible. I am not going to sell it, I would love to drive it 40 years down the road and feel special owning a classic car a car which you no longer see in the roads due to people constantly changing to the newer model. I hope one day my SLK reaches to the presence of the older Mercedes roadsters such as 280 SL or 300SL of the 50's but I might be dreaming, who knows what time has for our cars but I do hope it lasts with me for a long long time as I really take care of the car more than my self, its the garage queen of the house.

| Headers are comparatively expensive for these cars no doubt, but there are some lesser priced options on the horizon (been keeping an eye on various W210 E55 forums - some of those guys are very mod happy, and our SLK's have the same engine) so that is definitely in my plans, should I go that route. Which means I would also be keeping mine long term too, as no point is throwing away money on mods that you'll never recoup later. And I'd be quite happy with that option too I'm sure, for the same reasons you've mentioned! I just wish I knew for sure what's happening with the R172 *L*.

| They had to raise the compression ratio on the 350 to get over the 300hp mark and I did have the SRT6 which is the 32AMG and it had 330 hp and 0-60 in the low 4s the 350 with the new dual overhead cams and vvt with the lower half beefed up and a few more things AMG does plus twin turbos and the new MCT box ---- might be hard to keep the wheels straight --- just dreaming wish our backs could take the harsher ride we sure miss the SRT6 and the SLK350 ---- but hey we still have GT Mercedes so life is still good.
