Question Beltronics FX2 Accelerometer

I have always been thinking about getting the Beltronics FX2 Accelerometers.

Just want to know what you think of them, their potential accuracy and all... All input welcome.

Vector FX2 is the fast, easy way to learn the facts about vehicle performance. The portable, high-tech FX2 measures acceleration (0-60; quarter mile times and more), cornering, horsepower and G-Force. Vector FX2 stores up to ten runs in memory and can easily download results to a PC or Palm. The high-tech, ultra-bright vacuum fluorescent display readily confirms all information. An absolute must for every car enthusiast! The Performance Computer measures the performance of your car by sensing acceleration forces. An internal precise digital 2-axis accelerometer tracks your car's acceleration, braking, and cornering forces approximately 200 times each second. A built-in computer continuously analyzes this data and calculates corrected G-Forces for the G-Meter operation, and speed and distance data for the Timed Run operation. Your Performance Computer was developed and tested extensively, both at drag strips and using our VBOX professional vehicle testing equipment, the ultraprecise data acquisition system used by auto makers BMW, Honda, and AMG Mercedes; race teams Ford Racing, Roush Industries, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Renault F1; tire manufacturers Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, and Kumho; and car testers at Car and Driver and Automobile Magazines. The result is the most accurate accelerometer-based performance computer available. And it's the first unit with true one-button operation: Press a single button for calibration, a single button for G-meter operation, a single button to start a timed run, and a single button to review your previous runs.

Compare it to the G-Tech Pro

http://www.gtechpro.com/

I have the old original version but a friend borrowed it and lost in a move.

I checked out the G-Tech pro. and think it is better, but price wise, it is way up there... $275

Lets consider the fact that i can get the FX2 for about $70 ...

For $70 go for it. In any case you will have to give us a run down of how your car performs.

I guess to see how the car responds to various things like wheels, rubber, weather and even green filters.

Just another toy and additional wires!

I guess i wouldn't really have much use for it on the daily bases...

Lenny,There was a member over here who used to have this on his SLK55, I cannot remember his name but he did have a 07 SLK55 AMG in iridium silver with 18 inch monoblock S wheels and straightpipes.

He reccomended it and also achieved a staggering 4.3 seconds from 0 to 60mph. This might be pretty accurate.
