Default Inexpensive/frugal way to protect COMAND

This applies to all models I think, including Audio 20 although I tried it on COMAND.

Measure and cut out a film from those plastic sleeves used to protect your more important documents in a binder. I use the type that is non-glare. It is non-stick but conforms well to the COMAND screen (use only one film or one layer). For COMAND, the size is 3in. x 5.5 in.

Below is a pix of the COMAND screen without the film:

Pix of COMAND screen with the film. It looks a tad more blurry from the film but in reality is not that fuzzy. Works well especially with the retractable roof up and at night.

Disadvantages are:

1. There is more glare if the sun is behind you, but it is very easy to remove the film with 2 fingers.

2. If the roof is retracted and you're driving with the windows down at moderate speed, the film can blow away. I lost one this afternoon after using the film for 3 days. No worries, the film is easy to make and they're inexpensive/cheap.

Advantages are:

1. Keeps fingerprints away from the COMAND screen. Most passengers will think it's touch screen. You can pretend to throw a fit when the film comes off after the other party accidentally touches the screen

2. Quite inexpensive, readily available, easy to replace when lost.

3. No worries about getting bubbles when applying a screen protector that has adhesive.
