Default OOPS! I scratched it. AARGH!

Hello everyone. Things and events are bound to happen, so I thought it might be interesting to see how many has scratched their beloved ride.

Do post where you scratched the vehicle, be it lower bumper cover, rims, doors, etc.

I've scratched the lower part of the front bumper cover twice already.

Scratched the bottom of the front spoiler. Very upsetting at first. However, after I got over it, I went and bought touch up paint. I did a very poor job but no one can tell. You'd have to get on your hands/knees and be within inches to tell. Besides, I can always have it professionally painted after a couple years (and more scrapes).

Default Scratched? How about number of times repainted.

I have never scratched my car myself but others have. The car has been repainted 3 times.

- Six panels repainted when vandals keyed the car back to front both sides

- The door repainted a second time when a German dented it with his door.

- Bonnet repainted after someone dragged something across it at a hotel.

The only part of my car showing original paint is the roof and the boot lid. The car is only 1 year old.

I am a total clutz. Most of the scratches
I self-inflict (I have had many more
inflicted by man or beast other than me)
come when I am parking in some corner
trying to avoid getting scratched/dinged
by someone else!

Yup, the infamous lower front bumper. It's the first one hurts the most, after that it gets easier *L*.

Did you notice that its easier to park in reverse, the rear sits higher in than the front and can park very close to the curbs or parking stoppers without scratching the paint.

Ditto on the bumper its got a few marks on it.

Also one tiny little ding about the size of a pin-head just behind the driver side front wheel arch from the wheel kicking up stones.

alroumi, I never park in reverse anymore because the last time i did that the tailpipes got too close to some grass that was overhanging the kerb a little and they where smoldering.

Well I scratched my front lower bumper the second day I had it!
I was getting it out of our garage (first time), and well... as I drove off the little treshold (hope that is a right translation), the front bumper scratched. It happened again a few days later. The only thing I could do was driving out at < 1mph.
We have changed our driveway since, problem solved!
Other than that, I didn't scratch my car. (and I hope I won't)

Just the one tiny stone chip on the front edge of the bonnet, about 2mm in size but not down to the metal though.

stone chip on bonnet...which kills me.
a 2mm scratch on back bumper where i think someone must bumped it with a bag or something. i have kerbed two of my rims, which was just simply gutting as i have never kerbed a wheel in my life before.
all marks and scratches are minimal and not even noticeable, but are 2 me when im cleaning the car - so it still annoys me!

No scratches yet on this one (1.5 months now)...although not without trying.... I have managed to knock the garbage pail covers off and onto the car several times, close my eyes, say a prayer and look....have had plenty of other self inflicted experieces with my other 2 cars...I guess only a matter of time..Perhaps a nice set of custom SLK "Curb Feelers" could help... quite the looker here in NYC.
