Default Whaty may be missed during purchase? (gotchas?)

Ok, so the options are there, and I'm going to get the iPod kit.

What should be my "punch list" for items I need to make sure are there, to check. Dan unintentionally gave me one- make sure the tire pressure is activated.

What other things should I be on the lookout for, or should consider?
Are those clear bra's any good?
What should I look for to make sure the top is closing properly (adjustment?)

I'd be happy to write down any gotchas or things to ask for "freebies"?

-Doug

Default Gotchas

On my SLK 55 it took me almost 12 months to get the correct AMG floor mats. When I picked uo the car it had standard mats.

(I wouldn't have even known they were the wrong ones if it hadnt been for the people here!!!)

(starting list on back of salesman's business card)
Wow, I would have *never* caught that one. Thanks JF!

I knew this would be a helpful topic for me.

Not sure if they would get you one but they used to provide the interior cleaning cloths free now they have stopped and its a shame cause they work wonders.

One thing i would have them do is check and update all the software in the car it wont cost them anything but its always nice to be up-to date.

If the car is brand spanking then the alignment should all be OK but just watch the roof move any jerkiness or contact should be removed from it by adjustment, also drive the thing and check you have no squeaks or rattles also that the trunk sits flat and level.

Oh and the doors check the alignment of them there should be an even gap all the way around them and they should be flush to the body check the windows go up into the seals correctly and where the windows meet each other and you have the vertical seal the door window should move evenly up that so if you have (and obviously your not going to actually check this like in the example i am just using it do describe what i mean a visual check should be fine) a 3cm gap from the end of the door window to the hard plastic section of the vertical piece at the bottom then make sure its the same at the top otherwise you will get wind noise and possibly a leak there.

Dan, you continue to amaze me. That all won't fit on the business card, but I've started a text document to put your reply in (now with the AMG mats) and I will take it with me on that O' so blessed day.

Danke!

I am afraid the slinger is gonna stroke out. Like a new Daddy, Calm down, these guys will walk you thru it,,,, do we have a pharmacist in the house???

Sure is nice to see the excitement, I sure hope you are pleased with the car when it is ready to be born. Have you got the babies bed ready? Best of luck, tell Mama to video tape the blessed event, you will smile everytime you watch it years from now....

The anticipation, although frustrating, CAN be enjoyable.
