Default K&N

I just got a new K&N Air Filter for my SLK, I was wondering if there will be any performance increase because I have seen many people put that down as a mod for the car, I dont consider it a mod. Another thing, how much better is K&N over stock air filter?

You dont have to change the K&N filter, just to clean it. More hp are not expected, just a better sound.

You might get one or two extra hp. Before installing it make sure you keep it out in the Sun for 30mins, so that the extra oil would soak and cause less chances for to spoil MAF sensor.

I use the Torque and keep the HP for my Steak Sauce!

I've had K&N on my previous vehicles and they give a throatier sound, don't know about hp, never dyno it, can't feel the difference with or without them. But quality is much better than OEM, K&N's been around for awhile, I heard nothing but good things about them.

No performance increase just a better sound as said above, sometimes also 1 or 2 MPG more.

And with K&N its vital that you make sure they are "dried" enough otherwise you will ruin your MAF
