OK, I got inspired and lit the afterburners today so we'll see if we can bump that 22.5k average up a bit...

I don't want to wait 6 mos to catch mbWorld- maybe we can cut that in half.

Seems were climbing again. hehe. If anyone has an ATI GPU look at using the ATI folding client. also there is now a GPU client for NV80 and up chipsets. I used to use the quad cpu, but the 8800gtx gpu yields far higher ppd. I have another similar card I need to get set-up if the passing those guys in a couple of weeks is the challenge.

Brian, how do you set up the computer when you have the ATI graphics card? My son is at college and has a desktop with the ATI Radeon Graphics card. It is set up for folding (user: etyu_1) and I can have this run 24/7 when he is not home.

Hey mate, You need to check its a card that can support folding see the site for a list of the cards

http://fahwiki.net/index.php/GPU_FAQ...Graphics_Cards

"GPU1 client: ATI x1600, x1800, and x1900 class (discontinued June 6, 2008)

GPU2 client: ATI HD2xxx, HD3xxx class, HD4xxx "

then goto the fah site and download the gpu 1/2 file respectively

here http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther

id's also recommend visiting the ATI site and getting the latest drivers for the graphics card.

have any troubles just ask. Brian

Aw shucks Erky, thanks!

I didn't do that much really- cept throw a lot of cpu's at cha. They're doing all the work.

Almost cheating really since you've worked hard at investing some serious time.

Clear sailing ahead until we get to mbWorld (crossing fingers) and nobody in our rear view mirror.

too bad we can't get our folding rank added to our profile by our post automatically updated...that would be fun...in a nerdy way.

Short answer= Yes- "Gromacs SMP" is what it loaded. For the most part I'm running the third party app designed for Mac OS X called "InCrease" : http://calxalot.net/InCrease/ .

It automatically figures out what standard core exe to download and run from the Stanford site for the specific processor. In some cases it figured out I could run 2 folds on the same machine and some it left it at one and wouldn't really let me force it. with the Intel based 8 core machines I added over the weekend, they each let me add another instance so they are folding (2) 1760 point WU's at a time and on a run rate of 16-17 hours but cycle independently. I'm pretty impressed.

I'd be embarrassed to list what I've thrown at this, but I really want to catch mbWorld.
