The computer shuts down. I believe it´s an error made by Kaspersky. Downloaded a new version today. Hope it helps. But I lost nearly a whole WU while that action.

I've been running an intense work unit.

I had to reduce the CPU usage down to 40%. Currently the CPU temp is 78C, with folding running at 100% the temp was at 90C and the system beeper driving me nuts. With folding shut down, the temp runs 62C. The case is at a pleasant 25C.

Ill probably drop the CPU usage down to 30% to keep the temp in the low 70C range.

The bios shows the temps. By the way, was out looking for a replacement. How does this sound:

• Windows Vista Home Premium
HP 17” Widescreen Monitor (W17E) • Flat-panel LCD

The LCD should have a D-sub/DVI input at least. Analog is no longer acceptable . Where's the NVIDIA or RADEON video cards?

In general, i would stay away from HPs though...a lot of bloatware preinstalled...

Also, look up the actual motherboard and CPU that's specced, sometimes they pass of older models in their 'promotions'.

Good comments from the other guys.. The machines are generally stock with a high level labelling component like the cpu in this case and the rest is crap. Can you handle building your own pc? or look at a different make than HP.
also try a application for reading your current pc.. search speedfan, be nice to know what it is when the machine is up and running.

I've built them before, to lazy today. I found a supplier that has reasonable prices for custom build. As to the fan speed, it's averaging 3800 RPM. I don't know if that's a good speed.

Yeah thats about right, But I meant use speedfan (a free application) to check your cpu temps.

when you install it goto the last tab and click cpu and it'll start graphings it. the bios ain't very good as your not loading anything at that time and temps change very fast.
