I just completed a seven day work week. We were short one employee for six of the seven days. I worked a very rare Sunday by myself. Oh well, it's all in the rear view mirror now. Had a great Christmas selling season. Off today, back to the grind tomorrow. My boss is a slave driver.

Sorry to hear you had to work today Z. I'll be working 12 hr. shifts New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, 2000-0800 both days...woohoo.

At least I'll get double time for 8 of the 12 hrs on the 1st.

Me too....

I'm an anesthesiologist at a level 1 trauma center which, of course, has to be covered 24/7, 365. So far I've done only one case; I've been hanging out all day other than that one two hour case.

I will be off tomorrow and all week until New Year's Day when I do another 24 hour shift.

I don't mind the work...what I hate are the snowy, icy days when they spread salt and sand on the roads. I drive my SLK all winter on winter tires but I leave it in the garage whenever the roads are wet, salty or sandy.

My work days are thurs, friday, and saturday, it doesn't matter what day it is, I'll have to work unless I take vacations days. I work in the transportation industry so holidays are usually busy days. I've been off since Dec 16th and will be back to work this thursday but help my parents out on my off days with their business.

I feel for everyone who has to work on Christmas Day and other holidays. It is something necessary that we do, be it in medicine, search and rescue, air traffic control, law enforcement, etc.

What helps me go through the day are the words of gratitude and the looks and smiles on people's faces.

Have been working for the last 35 Years at Cristmas day but this year I was off for the first time, a was great. got a new job this year will start Jan 2 driving a bus.

Congrats on the new job slk4fun. Is this a retirement gig? Just an assumption given it sounds like you did the same thing for the past 35 years. And I don't know many bus drivers who own SLKs.

Yeah! Me too! 20 years working Christmas and this year got off 5 days over Christmas. Hardly even saw my computer the whole time!

Come back and work 2 sixteen hour days and off another 10 days over the new years holiday!!

A good way to end and start the year!
