Question Legality of clear side marker lights in North Carolina

Does anyone know is clear side marker lights (front ones) are legal in North Carolina (USA)?

Not sure about the laws in NC but we discussed the clear marker lights today at our lil get together in Atlanta. The guys that have the clear markers said that the bulb inside the marker light is silver, but the bulb turns orange when on.

Yes, the clear ones "display" it but they don't "reflect" it.

Beyond legality is the question of whether cars in your state are regularly offically inspected for such things. If it's strictly up to street enforcement, well it's not a very large crime.

I'm noticing cars that don't even have the side markers!

Louisiana is the same - must reflect/light amber. I've had my car inspected at least twice now, and they have never given ;em a second glance, other than to insure they they actually illuminated.

My gut feeling is no one is going to notice - or if they do, they are *really* looking for a reason to hassle you.

Did they get the ones sold here by SLK Store?
