| The best time I trounced someone at a light, we didn't even lift off the brakes.... I was driving our '94 S500, and I was twenty-six at the time. A forty something guy in a suit cut me off with his Lexus LS400 and I had to slam on the brakes hard. Up a couple of intersections we both arrived at the red light in front position and I motioned for him to roll down the windows. As he rolled down the window, I put the trans in B, so it would leave in first instead of second. I yelled "What's the matter? You couldn't afford the turn signal option in your little Toyota?" His whole face turned SOOOOOO bright red. I will never forget the look of absolute humilliation that shook his entire body. The light turned green and I tore off, to blast him with superiority to drive the point further home. Is there anything more sickining then jerk offs in BMW's and Mercedes-Benz's (and Lexus, et. al.) that think they are God, and you should anticipate and be prepared for their every move? They do not ever have to lift a tiny finger to indicate their lane-change or that they're going to start slowing down to turn the corner? Speaking of which, I LOVE the SLK's tap for 3 blinks lane change feature. Yesterday I sort of got a repeat. I had a guy in an ML who almost cuased an accident with me roll his window down and said "I think my Benz is better then yours. It not only comes with working turn signals, but a driver who knows how to use them." I never do that in Texas, however. Too many concelled weapons. Here, I play the roulette wheel that the other person isn't an automatic packing coke dealer. |

| you hit the nail right on the head... what's so hard about hitting your turn signal and showing a little consideration for others? i've had this fantasy for years (yeah it is suitable for this environment). wouldn't it be neat if based on a clean driving record we were issued paintball guns with idiot paint in them. everytime we saw somebody driving like an idiot, we could shoot their car with one round of idiot paint. when a car had 3 hits on it, any cop could stop the car and write them a ticket for driving like an idiot (5 hits gets your car impounded). and since only the cops and the courts would have the solution that could clean the idiot paint off, we wouldn't have to worry about the idiot driver cleaning it. and nevermind painting over it because idiot paint is so slick, nothing will adhere to it... wouldn't it be nice... |

WOW, got anything positive to say about anyone? We've all had our share of inconsiderate, unfriendly, arrogant drivers. Sometimes our frustrations gets the better of us. My philosophy, don't sink to their level. Oh yea, lighten up on the MB drivers, we are they

I realize sometimes people just forget, but I'm talking about the losers that just do not care, and create accident situations because they are not careful, or caring about others in the slightest. Unfortuantly, many of them in this area tend to have Benz's & BMW's because I live in an affluent area. I want to keep my car nice, and I know other people want their cars nice, no matter what make or model. I see it as my duty to society to try and drive as properly as possible, and to use the tools (turn signals) given to advise others of what I am intending to do. PS: The paint ball or flag idea won't work. The reason: Priveledged People. Frank is an attorney and the judges always through out his ticket, he just says "late for court." I have a sticker on my car, because a law firm client of mine represents the local police and towing companies, that I can park anywhere and I will not be towed. It's a good idea, however we could abuse it, and I'm sure many many others can to. BTW, I've never parked anywhere or not used a meter and made my sticker be used, I put it there to prevent when they tow me in a valid spot, which they sometimes do. PPSS: Cutting someone off here has more meaning, and it happened to me yesterday. A Caprice full of Haitians, probably poor and paid a nominal fee, drove down the shoulder of the road and passing me on the right, jumped in front of me and slammed on the brakes. It is a usual fraud caper. Unfurtunatly for them, a Caprice can not out brake an SLK with an alert driver. | |

I think when someone reads "flick" in the US, it means to stick up the middle finger. I know what you mean Dan. To activate the flasher 3x, all you have to do is move/tap the turn indicator in the directon of your intended turn momentarily and the flasher/turn indicators will do it 3x automatically. (Do not press and hold).

| OK gotcha cheers for the heads-up etyu mate i will remember that for the future. Just one thing racercub i am sure you are a nice enough guy mate but maybe you should consider the first of the two suggestions in your last post i think the anger management would be excessive however, just that you seem quite excitable and one of these days your gonna push your luck too far and somebody is gong to rip your head off and make it your new hood emblem. I fully agree with your statement made about the people in the Caprice and you got lucky as it is obvious what they where out to do i think we just have to be careful that we don't try and elevate ourselves about other because we drive a Benz and they don't but that does not mean we are better people than they are.
