How do you call somebody sitting in a car with an insanely crazy driver? You are lucky boys, that I´m not your father.

agreed with Gero.
not a bragging story im afraid. It is this exact story why young drivers should not be alowed powerful cars at first.

i personally was given a 1litre 12v vauxhall corsa as my first car, and even tho back then i wanted faster, it was a good way to learn. my parents made the correct move as i hope do yours.

Zap- there's a time and a place to go fast and you guys chose neither correctly. You were very lucky to come out uninjured and lucky you didn't hurt/kill anybody else... I won't lecture. DON"T DO THAT AGAIN!

Ten feet Tall and Bullet proof.. Been there done that...Zappa, I transport people like you to the trauma center daily. Some die, some live as veggies and some walk away. Nothing we say will change you or stop you from doing what you are going to do. Heck, some of us did the same stuff when young and survived. On the other hand, I attended several funerals for friends due to the same stuff you and your friend did. If you and your friend had died in that incident, no big deal,,,,,if you had hit my wife and hurt or killed her in that incident,,, your life would be ruined. Me and my lawyers would see to that. Moral of the lecture: There are plenty of places to get the rush you seek, the highway is not the place. Too many mothers and children that can be hurt by your need for excirement. Try parachuting, bungee jumping or some appropriate activity for your thrills. You read here about some of us older children doing dangerous things and that is not to say we are better prepared for this kind of stuff. But all things considered, you will probably find that many of the deeds bragged about here were done when the situation was conducive for a moment of insanity and most of us exaggerate to a degree. Experience and judgement are earned by surviving, cannot be taught or gained by taking a pill or reading from others experiences. I hope you survive your youth as we have, if you do good, if you don't, I hope you don't hurt or kill some innocent mother going to pick up her kids from school. Ten feet Tall and Bulletproof, we are all born that way, some of us survive to learn we are not and others die young, toss the coin to see which category you are in.. Oh, by the way, Saying"I'm Sorry" don't help, I have had to try it myself...

Oh, no, no, you read me way wrong, I agree, it was probably the second stupidest thing I have done this whole year. (The first was kissing a girl at a school party, which ended up almost getting me expelled, my school is tremendously controlling.) That's why I'm hoping our metro area comes through with a drag strip for the weekends that's not 30 miles away.

Well, I'm probably right in guessing that you finally got that off your chest and at least told the truth to someone other than the people who can punish you. At least you came forward to someone with that. But I want you to know that I lost a good friend a long time ago while I was out of town. His name was Ali and I've known him since 6th grade. One day he was riding shotgun in his friend's Acura Integra. The driver of the Integra decided to race some other ricer on this great stretch of road that hardly anyone takes. Mureau Rd in Calabasas, CA.

Long story short... my friend lost his life when the driver of the Acura lost control. The car slammed into 4 newspaper stands and a telephone pole... passenger door first. Ali died on the scene. His "friend" is now serving 20 years for manslaughter because he was racing.

The freedom that cars can bring to people can be exciting, but in the wrong hands, or in Ali's case, even the wrong seat... it can easilly go from bad to worse. Totaling a car is something that insurance can take care of by writing a check. But losing a leg, finger, eye, or life is far too big a price to pay and something that not even Bill Gates can replace.

SLK's are great rides. Just make sure that you're around to enjoy one some day. By all means, take risks. That's how most people learn. But don't let friends take risks for you. Common sense goes a long way. 95+ in a blizzard was obviously not smart... your friend's accident is proof enough.
