Default bumped and stumped

not a true kill story, but don't know where to post.......Had a recent accident...I was at a stop light and an ML 320 struck me from behind..n was pushed forward what felt like 4-5 feet at least...I was so pissed off when it happened...Came out of my car ready to scream and yell at this person........but when I took a look at my bumper....not a scratch or a dent on the car....still took insurance and drivers lisence info from the other driver, but really couldnt call a cop..........cuz no noticeble damage...i tried my convertable on the spot an worked fine........even took pics of the bumper nothing....although his ML look as if it was more damaged....

Wow...that's certainly testimony for MB. More importantly though, glad you weren't hurt. I imagine the driver of the ML felt sick to their stomach. I know I would have.

Which SLK is this? R170 or R171? Also double check the trunk lid, make sure it opens and closes fine the conventional way. Glad the varioroof works fine.

Most importantly, that you were not hurt.

Exactly this needs a dealership or good indy to remove the fender and check out the chassis.

This is one of the problems with these new flexible bumpers and crash zones they are not 100% compatible the crash zone is designed to deform and crumple to absorb energy and the plastic bumper is designed to bounce back give the impression all is well when there can be major damage to the cars structure

your bound to have at leats stress cracks inside the bumper.
i'd recommned having it checked out, might be some damage that the bumper is covering up.
still at least your ok.

so far no sign of further damage to the car.....I hate to go to the dealer and ask to check out the inside of the bumper.....it feels like going to the doctor..........because u might find something wrong.......trunk lids work and the convertible is working....the ML had plenty of scratches and dents.....she didnt really care..........mine is the r171.

I'd still have it checked by a reputable body shop. It shouldn't be hard for them to do a "take down" and look at the bumper and check the chassis for alignment.

It's like going to the doctor to make sure everything is okay.

You really should get it checked mate.

There's nothing wrong with going to the doc's just so long as they don't wanna take blood and i don't think the SLK's hurt that bad.

Better get it looked at than have of of the structures designed to protect you in an accident fail should the worst happen

I agree...
many years ago a car hit me like that at a red light. Weeks later I started having tranny problems....Get it checked out.

My 2 cents worth.
