I liked the G35 coupe better. Looks and chassis are better balanced. However, I cancelled the order and got my first SLK350 instead. The one thing you do not address here is preparedness for racing. The high torque of the SLK350 will allow you to launch without revving up, so an unsuspecting 350Z owner will be off the mark unless he was already planing to race you. They must be revved up a bit more to take off. However, now the coupe is the G37, they incresed the engine size a bit. Would be interesting to see.

| 335i is quiet fast, Be aware that with a chip(ecu)upgrade it gains around the doors of 55hp easily. So you dont know that if it has a chip or not.

I'm gonna be so jealous of his new car! DAMN IT, if his roof can cover four people and go down in 22 seconds, mine should do it in 15 seconds!

| according to car mag tests, the 335i and the is350 are atleast a 1/2second faster to 60mph than the slk350. actually i've driven all 3 cars, (owning a slk350, and test driving the other 2 before my purchase) so i can tell you the 335i and the is350 are much faster cars. mag tests rate the 335i and is350 at around 4.9-5.1 seconds to 60 mph. automatic for both. and while you can look up some 1/4 mile times of all three cars at dragtimes. a stock slk350 aint much faster than 13.9-14 secs flat. the other two are around 13.5sh stock. |

| That's right. The 335i and IS350 are faster by a bit (I just looked it up). The 335i with an ECU is rumored to gain 50-60bhp because it's already a twin turbo. SLK350's are gonna be getting spanked by the 335i, and the 335i's with 6MT/ECU will definitely be giving the SLK55's a run for their money. I guess it's time for my ECU upgrade. What do you guys think a SLK350 6MT with green filters and ECU upgrade will pull on the 0-60 and 1/4? |

| On a straight road, yes the newer Z, IS and 335i will beat the SLK350 (assuming they can drive). The new AT's on cars makes a big difference on a straight road. Put them on a track, and you can easily beat the Z and IS (not sure on the 335i). Why?, we have better suspension, balance, brakes, low end torque, etc. And a MT can provide better anticipation for coming out of curve, etc. Now the new ISF will be interesting. Looks like Lexus is getting serious. |

| Well, I was in CA by the coast last weekend. My 280 felt more like a 350 would in Vegas. No delay off the line and between shifts. So a 350 Z (maybe an 05 /06) came alongside at the traffic lights. I could see was raring to go. 1st gear off the line left him behind, and never caught up although I wasn't pulling away any more either. I'd say even. Next light was a nod and wave. So I think it all depends. Had I been in 2nd he would have probably pulled me. That 1st gear is pretty darn good even in a 280,(well, at sea level anyway). |

| I raced the new 335i Twin turbo bmw, (300bhp), and it got me. Not by much, but he got me. Quick car. The 350z is a quick car, but its gearing isnt as good as the SLK. |

| I don't think anybody buys an SLK 280 with the idea of beating a Vette or a 350Z on the road or the track. It is a nice GT car with a smooth ride. And , as such, it is one of the best in its class. Now, if I need to go head-to-head with a 350Z or a Vette, I'll just break out my modded Honda S 2000. Then the problem is theirs. ![]() |

| How about the newer SLK 350s with the power increase? Close to 300hp now right?
