I understand there's no need and I'm not talking about "puck" but rather "cradle."
However it's also true that use of cradles with MHI/UHI connector in console is indeed possible in, for example, the UK. So, again, my question is does the USA unit feature the connectors and capabilities for this?

The UHI/MHI connection is not supported with NTG 2.5. What you need to do is to convert this to comfort phone. this looks very similar to UHI/MHI except that the connection itself bluetooths to the head unit. then a cradle is inserted onto the connection which the phone sits in or bluetooths to.
