| Hi to everyone at SLKWorld! Just noticed my grey car mats are a little dirty and was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions on cleaning them? I've tried some carpet spot cleaner on the worst areas which has help considerably, but I'm tempted to put them in a bowl of warm water with a scoop of something like Vanish OxyClean. They are a genuine Mercedes-Benz product, and are carpet on the front with a foam-like backing to them. |

| If possible I would suggest a strong carpet shampooer, the kind you clean and shampoo the entire carpeted area of houses/apartments. Some of those are REALLY good and can suck out months' to years' worth of grime from pretty thick carpet, so they outta suck vehicle floor mats pretty darn clean. You may even have a friend that has one you could use for free |

| ryan: If the carpets are not completely dirt encrusted, a steam cleaner may work the best, as It will leave absolutely no detergent residue in the carpets. The one I use is called a "Steam Buggy". It consists of a small unit that sits on the floor/ground with a steam hose and a steam wand on the end. Both large and small brush attachments were provided to attach to the end of the wand. I use the steam on the portion of a mat, then wipe it with an old towel that I do not use on the car's paint. This has done well for me on several cars.
