Default New product... Cilajet

I got this from the MB dealer in Greenwich, CT. Apparently the stuff is amazing. I have a brand new coat of wax I just put on along with Meguiars Ultimate quick detailer, so I dont want to try it yet, but I am considering it. The stuff is called Cilajet. It's supposed to last 10 years and is the same stuff they use on planes. Here is the website:

http://www.cilajet.com/

I will give it a shot some time soon and let you all know the results. The guys at the MB dealer had a bunch of it because the cilajet people are trying to sell them the product to use on their cars. They gave me some to try. My SLK is black, so it's a good test. Will get back to you once I use it!

Anyone else heard or tried this stuff before??

Default car wax

I've been around the aircraft business for 30 plus years but not heard of this product.
Had an opportunity to visit with a couple of the Air Force Thunderbird pilots last week, they use Mop & Glo on their airshow birds. Go figure!!

Might want to try it on a small panel first?

Yeah I never heard of it either, but the site says just one coat lasts 10 years on a new car and 5 years on a used car. If the stuff lasts even ONE year and doesnt wear down or show signs of little protection, then thats cool with me! No waxing? I think I will give it a whirl this weekend even though i JUST put a coat of wax on it last weekend. I wish they gave this to me a little earlier. It seems a little far fetched to last 10 years, but who knows... I like your idea mtiede!

Read the website. It's a 2 part epoxy sealant. You may have to strip the wax before application. What does the manufacturer recommend in terms of application? Any prep work prior to application?
