As I've been taught by everyone, finish preparation is the biggest contributor to the final finished look. That being said I cant take credit for this C&B since the important work was done by Tom Horvath in the System One demos at Detailfest. Tom has won the Pebble Beach Concours event with cars he has painted and is President of System One.

The only thing I can say about the following pictures is, if you have any doubt about System One, these should put your mind at ease. Tom Horvath took out horrible scratches in the demo (from glass in a wax I used, but thats another story of yours truly's stupidity).

The finish he gave to my car was beyond impressive. Any of the people watching the demo can attest to the incredible change in the look of the finish.
He then used the System One wax to provide the protection to the finish. The car looked like it had metal flake floating on it. I asked Tom if he would mind if I used a few LSP carnauba based products and . of course, he had no problems with the idea.

The day after Detailfest I had a little fun using 2 of the newest LSPs on the market....Wolfgang Fuzion AND Dodo Supernatural. Here are the pics.....

Both LSPs were a breeze to use. The Fuzion went on a little easier but the difference was negligble. Both were equally easy to take off (probably because of the immaculate finish provided by System One).

Which one do I like better? The answer is both, they both have slightly different looks. All LSPs have their own strengths which is why I like trying so many different types (except Zaino .) I think these two new offerings can be matched against any high end wax on the market and are probably my newest favs

Boy there is just something about a spotless black car....beautiful. Of course I wouldn't be the least bit partial to your car's color.

Wow, impressive. One question... what does LSP stand for? And why wont you use zaino? The car looks amazing. I just gave my car a good wash and I was impressed with the look just after washing. I have some water spots that need to be removed, but i'll do that soon enough. Thanks for the pics!

"Last Step Product"=LSP

Zaino, IMO, gives a very plastic look.....Many people also use it because of its fillers that fill in scratches instead of removing them. Zaino does have some polishes but most don’t use them.

I prefer the "warm wet" look of Carnauba and really enjoy keeping my cars in pristine condition. For me its a labor of love and not a tedious task.

I use a QD (Quick Detailer) when needed, wash the cars at least weekly (using a foam gun and two bucket method), always dry with a blower and then QD when finishing the drying with a microfiber towel (this keeps the swirling/scratches down so I dont have to "fill" or polish..

I then weekly apply wax, not because I have to, but because I enjoy it. Its actually a therapeutic event. I have 18 different carnauba paste waxes, all have differing subtleties.

There are many products on the market at least as good as Zaino. This means in terms of durability, looks or anything else. If you look at the numerous websites and their forums (including Autogeek in the banner ad), you will find there are a tremendous number of competitors.

As an example the System One system demo'd on my car is a non-diminishing abrasive system that is fantastic for our cermi-clear coats. They have used electron Microscopes to look at the effect of their polish on paints and their system tests fantastically with a Glossmeter which provides an unbiased scientific read of shine. The developer, Tom Horvath, is extremely knowledgeable about automobile pant. In fact he has won the Pebble Beach Concours event with some of his work.

The other reason I don’t use Zaino is the personality of Sal. He is a tremendous self-promoter who gives NO credit to anything but his system. In talking to him I personally found his attitude bothersome and I prefer to do business with "good people" who let the results of their products speak for themselves. (Thats just my opinion though.)

I have had a blast learning about detailing and have been amazed at the science involved. If you consider caring for your car a chore, then use Zaino (or other sealants). If you enjoy the process there is a world of products and knowledge at your disposal.
