Only me washes my car and the wash buckets and mitts are only used on the SLK. I won't even show them to my truck. Usually wash once per week. MY routine: Hose off Wash wheels and tires first using separate bucket and finger mitt Wash - Griot's car wash, two-bucket/two-mitt method Rinse - sheet method removes about 90% of the water Blot dry with MF WW towel Touch-up dry door jambs and trunk and mirror recesses Open and close doors, cycle the top, drive around the block and blot dry any residual drops

Like the majority of voters I also wash mine once a week. I use simple green to clean the outside and Mother's to wax. I use Zymol on the interior. After I rinse the outside I use a soft car sqeegee to remove most of the water and an old bath towel to finish drying. use Mother's applicator to apply the wax but I use an old fleece pullover to handrub the wax.

Once a week... Wash using Zaino car wash and cotten towel and dry with cotten towels...do rims last and then use a leaf blower to blow off most of the water(works great in blowing off water in hard to reach areas like lug nut holes) then towel dry the car. Wax the car with Zaino about once every 2-3 months. Pp

| I agree with Bill. Only one black car in my life. Won't have another. I admire those that accept the challenge of a black car. Someone pointed out that many of the cars for sale online are either black or silver. I have to agree. I understand that silver is very popular and that might account for the silver. Curious, why the high number of used black SLKs for sale? For those with a black vehicle, would you purchase another?

I have to go to a self car wash as it is illigal to wash at home because of water restriction in Melbourne, Aust. However, I do not use the brush but it is NOT as clean as I would like. I got info on this site to use Mr. Sheen on the alloy wheels, will get it this week. Ellimb

I also have a black slk, so every speck of dust is magnified 10x. I try to wash it once a week or every two weeks at the least. In between, I use the american car duster which works great on minor dust buildup. just remember to only use that on a cool surface unless you want streaks of carnuaba wax all over.

Hi folks Whilst I was at the local self car wash, I saw a man with a Porsche car and he was using Mr Sheen on his car after a wash. He said he just spray on one section at a time and lightly buff it. He said Mr Sheen is so cheap. I have only use Mr sheen on the alloy wheels. I may try what he said.
