Anyone know where I can buy one of these towels? I cant seem to find them anywhere.
Also, what is a good brand to use?

Thanks in advance

Hey, Bill...

So I went ahead and ordered the waffle weave towel, but how long does it take? There is no way to track delivery... I clicked on the link and placed the order and I was curious to know how long the shipping takes. I am located in Connecticut.

Thanks

JOC, I bought Pinnacle micro rejuvenator and 303 Aerospace protectant from AutoGeek (via the link from SLKworld). They emailed the order confirmation first, a second email came with a tracking number (looked generic on the second email, but one can tell it's UPS tracking number from the 1Z....). Standard shipping is UPS ground, which is about 7 days. I'm not sure if smaller/light items are sent US Postal Service or not.

The people at Autogeek are very nice...If you haven't received a tracking number you can call them on their 800 line and they can give you the info.

This weekend they are running their Detailfest event and my SLK is one of the cars that is going to be demo'd....The gentleman who works with Jay Leno's collection of cars is working on mine and is the president of a company called System One (that Leno endorses).

Recently I had the misfortune of getting some scratches on the SLK ...I will take before and after pictures and post online this weekend after the scartches are fully corrected.

Thanks etyu for the info....

jsfully, that is awesome man. you're lucky to get that treatment. My black slk needs some serious paint work after this winter. On a sunny day i can really see the swirls and minor scratches. Be sure to share those pics when your car is done!

I do like those waffle weave microfiber towels for drying after a wash. I use an electric leaf blower to blow dry my car before using them. this gets most of the water off, so the waffle weave towels have an easy job.

If you have swirls or small scratches, try claybar first. the problems could be only in the old wax, and not in the clearcoat. I have a Griot's Garage ROB with a claybar holding foam pad. When used with a lot of lube, you would be surprised at how many swirls and small scratches come off. For those that remain (if any) I use the same ROB with a polish pad and Griot's Garage #3 machine polish to remove. Then, an application of Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish (really a chemical cleaner, glaze, and filler) hides any imperfections remaining. I top this off with Autoglym Hardwax, and I'm good for the next six months or more.
