Tried to use a cleaner wax on the front of the car (it's black) and now I've got a haze that I can't get off. HELP and thanks!

I had the same issue on my car once, luckily it was only a small are on the trunk lid. I bought some Meguiers NXT wax and it took care of the haze and looks incredibly wet and deep when you're done. I use polishes from Griot's Garage but I love the NXT wax to follow it with, but the wax alone should help you out.

You might try a Quick Detailer...like Meguiars ultimate Quick Detailer.... the haze may be residue left over from using too much product.

For an OTC "wax" NXT 2.0 does a good job. (I'm more of a Carnauba fan and use Pinnacle, Zymol, DoDo and Chemical guys)buffing

All in one "cleaner waxes" are notorious for eventually leaving a "haze" on the finish, that is particularly noticeable then the surface is viewed from the side under bright light. A simple clay bar use may resolve the problem. If not, use of a random orbital buffer with a fine abrasive cleaner will fix it.

What you need to remember is, paint cleaner is like liquid sand paper. It is called a paint cleaner because it is made to remove minor paint imperfections such as swirl marks, stubborn bug and bird shit... those kinda things. The light swirling that you experience may be because you used too aggressive a grit, resulting in swirl marks just as if you polished your car with a fine layer of dust on it. If the swirling is deep enough, you might want to try out the finest grit paint cleaner then simply polish the car.

Absolutely! I think the haze the OP speaks of is merely built-up dirt in the wax finish, caused by the fact that a combination cleaner/wax had been used. These combination products don't adequately remove the dirt before laying on the wax. Cleaning this up by buffing with an abrasive product requires only the very finest abrasive cleaner. Abrasive cleaner, BTW, can be made even finer by mixing some liquid carnauba wax containing no cleaner into the abrasive polish. Another cure might be a washing with Dawn dish washing detergent in the water, in very low concentration.

After the old dirty wax is cleaned off, I recommend a two step cleaner/non-cleaner wax combination. For the cleaner, I recommend Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish. Strange name, but it is really a non-abrasive chemical cleaner that also works as a glaze by hiding minor swirls. For the wax, I recommend Autoglym Hardwax1. It has no abrasives or cleaners. Both are easy on -- easy buff off products. Autoglym products are recommended by the likes of Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, and the Royal Family of England (really). And use of these will not cause the haze to return.
