| Hello everybody, This is my first mail on this forum i will have at the end of the week (hopefully), my SLK 55 AMG, '05. i've checked Zaino price for Europe : Incredible price : example : Z6 at 16.40 euros (Zaino distributor), which makes roughly 20$, and 9.95$ on US side !! Do you have any tip to have it cheaper in Europe ? Michel |

| but it sure is worth the extra bucks. Once you get your car washed with strong dish detergent to remove all the old waxes, polishes, brake dust, etc, it is imperative to clay the entire car, even the wheels. Use lots of soapy water spray to flush the finish while you clay it. This takes time but you will be able to feel the difference in the smoothness of your car's finish. Then wash it with Zaino car wash, rinse, rinse, rinse and dry with lint free cotton towels. Read the Zaino website to avoid making swirls in your finish. Then, get your Zaino polish and ZFX catalyst out. Have at it. Go ahead, spend all day on it and put three coats on. You won't be sorry. Once you have three coats of Zaino on your SLK you will find that your car's finish will become almost maintenance free. Once a month or so, I get out the hose, a bucket of hot water, and my washing mit. An hour at the most, including cleaning the wheels and vacuuming. First, I give it a good rinse to remove surface grime, a quick wipe down with fresh hot water and a couple capfuls of Zaino car wash, and another quick rinse. The water will sheet off, leaving your car almost dry, then a quick wipe down with a fresh cotton towel and you're done. Oh yeah, you will spend many extra hours standing around in parking lots, explaining to friends and perfect strangers alike, how you detail your car and how they can get Zaino too. Oh well..... |

| I have seen looking through the forums here that there are at least a few members from Houston TX. So I wanted to ask, do any of you know of a local Zaino distrubutor? I would figure that a city this size is bound to have one. I have done a couple of different google searches but have only found one, and it doesn't appear to be in business anymore. I am prepared to place an order through the Zainostore.com site, but I am typically way too impatient when getting new cool things, so if i can find it locally, it would be much better for me. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

| I've received zaino products end of last week. 3 hours after : Whouah !! Easy to apply, and result is great (even on a irridium silver). i was a little anxious with the clay bar .... My paint, my varnish .... But as soon as there is enough lubricant, no risk. i've found a small tip for clay bar lubricant : water + z7 in a small spray (used for house plant). My wife has .... but Michel Note :i will recommend Zaino product. However, prices in Europe are

| Has anyone noticed any long-term effects on the paint with Zaino? I'm thinking about applying some once my SLK arrives, but this stuff is a sealant, not a wax. Correct? I'm just worried about f-ing up the clearcoat or whatever else MB puts in their paint these days. I have used Meguiar's on my previous cars and it was just fine until I recently detailed my Pewter E350 back in December. I noticed that after about a month, the water stopped beading. I am thinking that the waxes lately have changed composition to be "friendlier" to the environment. If waxes are only strong enough to last a month, I'll be spending a lot of time in my garage. Detailing the E350 is a PITA too! I'm thinking Zaino would keep me back on a 6 month schedule. Some BMW nuts still swear by Zymol. I have three cars and they are all different colors, so I'd like to reduce the amount of crap that I already have. Some Zymol waxes are tinted for the paint color, so I'd have to spend $$$$ to wax all the cars. I'm thinking that if I'm going to spend $$$$, I should just get lots of Zaino. Argh! It all comes down to time and money. I'd rather be driving my SLK! |

| I just got my car back from the Mercedes dealer for the "B" service. I had a complete detail done to the car. When I got it back it looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The engine bay was sparkling! I pride myself in keeping my car clean but WHOA... this looks awesome. I asked them what they use and he said they use Protect All. I had never heard of it before. He said it is what the dealer uses on all the cars there. "You just wipe it on and wipe it off." Any surface, dash, windows, paint, rubber trim, tires and rims, etc. He said I can find it a Walmart in the Marine section. I found a link to it if you want to read about it. http://www.protectall.com/pawax.htm I hope it will not have any long term effects on my car but it sure shines as of now! SLKman

| I've heard of Zaino, how can you not, everyone on the forums swears by it. I will be using Zaino products to wax my car this year. Last year I used Klasse Sealant glaze and I had great results. My car looks like a mirror after 3 coats of it.

| Obviously most folk on here are big Zaino Fans, and rightly so judging by the results. How does Harly wax compare. A local bloke has started to stock them (Bought a job lot) and after reading up it sounds similar in terms of results and price? |

| I think I understand it all now... for the best gloss and longest-lasting "beading" the process would be: 1. Wash 2. Clay Bar 3. Polish 4. Sealant 5. Wax 6. Drive http://www.autogeek.net/qude101.html I'm all for only having to detail my cars twice a year max. So a sealant would be best. Placing a wax on top of the sealant only produces better gloss, but wears off in a matter of weeks in the hot, humid south. So Zaino or Klasse it is for me! Thanks everyone for the clarification. |

I somewhat dislike zaino as I believe too many applications and thus time is needed to get the job done. For my next product, I'm going to look into poorboys, a popular brand on some forums. One thing about synthetics though, is topping it with a carnauba such as P21S or S100 will give you the look of a carnauba and the protection and durability of a synthetic. | |

| It's probably better to just give up some of your weekends and sniff the stuff. Using Zymol on the SLK is like rubbing tanning lotion on Cindy Crawford. Brings back great memories! |
