Default How to clean grime off car - follow up

I posted a message couple days ago asking for advice on how to clean those ugly brownish grime off the car, a few people made suggestions on tar remover before the server crashed. I figured I should give it a try before taking the car to a detailer - though I hate the idea of detailing the car since I only have 1500 miles on it.

I tried couple auto supply stores but they don't have the brands that folks suggested, the store clerk recommended the Stoner Tarminator. The label on the can says it is safe for clear coat so I figured what the heck.

Amazing, less than 1 min after I sprayed on the stuff, the brownish stuff that I scrubbed for hours but could not get off, they just started running off, I merely had to use a towel to wipe it clean. Of course, I rinsed the area with water and waxed it. If it doesn't do any long term damage, this is a wonderful product. It would be cool if they have similar stuff that can clean the wheels the same way.

Mothers Wire Wax Chrome Polisher. Works great on chrome, and I used it on my alloys a couple time. Spray it on, wash the car, come back rinse it off. Clean wheels. For me I do It twice. Then the couple of little dots of stuff i just wipe with a rag and it comes right off as it is already seperated just ddint run off.

By "alloys" you mean the regular wheels or the chrome ones? I have the regular AMG wheels, the polisher should work on them, right? Thanks for the tip.
